Hello all,
HG 1e Capital Ship Design Crew Gunnery Section p. 67:
The Capital Ship Design example has the Gunnery Sections over strength crew as 573.
1. Does the total gunnery section crew count include the chief gunnery officer or would the position make the crew 574?
2. The first Gunnery Section has the following requirement "...and at least 1 petty officer for each type of weapon aboard." There are a total of seven offensive and two defensive weapons on-board the example for a total of nine weapons.
Is the number of petty officers seven or nine?
Are they included in the over strength crew of 573 or would they increase the count to 580 without the screens or 582 with the screens without the Chief Gunnery Officer or 583 including the Chief Gunnery Officer?
3. The last sentence of the first paragraph is "Each operational fighter or turret drone requires at least 1 crew member."
My understanding is that a fighter is considered to be a small craft which requires a pilot and is part of the Flight Section for crew requirements.
Why is the fighter pilot requirement mentioned in the Gunnery Section Crew?
Is the pilot counted as crew in the Flight Section or Gunnery Section?
