GURPS Traveller to Mongoose Traveller

A while back I was running a Traveller game using GURPS Traveller and we've been on hiatus. The last session I ran it didn't feel like the Traveller I used to have fun with and now having looked over Mongoose Traveller I want to convert characters over from that campaign over to MgT.

Any suggestions or ideas??

Mongoose Traveller is the simpler system, so it shouldn't be too hard.
Jettison most of the advantages and disadvantages, since they have no rule equivelents in MgT.

In fact, you could probably do most of the conversion just by running the GURPS Traveller conversion rules from earlier editions of Traveller backwards.

GURPS Traveller rule book has a Character Conversion Section on page 124.

If you reverse the process and convert your GURPS characters into CT you'll be pretty much there.
