Got me the OGL RPG!

Sir Brad

Banded Mongoose
OK with the new edition coming my FLGS (that isn't that Local) moved the OGL edition of Lone Wolf RPG over from the Bargain Bin to to the Clearance Bin (next stop is the 2nd Hand & Deteriorating Stock boxes) where I picked it up for Cost along with Darklands MoM & DoD. Now I have a few questions.

Is their an XP Table for above Lv20 as If I get this running I'm likely to start the campaign at Lv3 and the guys will burn through the levels quickly (they just do) and I'll need the advanced Character Options to give the Campaign longevity, now these sub for Levels but the Players will want to return to their original Classes when their don to finish the Class, others will want to start new Class Careers when they have finished their first one, and from what I know of D20 you can't just restart the XP table when you reach Lv20.

Also Are their any Advanced Character options for Kai?

I'll add more questions as I think of them or my Players put them to me.

Bugger I thought that perhaps when the game was discontinued they may have released some Beta stuff as a last harrar or as an attempt to reignite the game, also I was hoping that some (other) OGL players could have helped me with the advancement table beyond Lv20.

The only other stuff was a free scenario on the mongoose website, an adaptation of FFTD for ogl, and several articles and scenarios in s&p, including a couple by me. :)

If you check on the TotS forum I think there were a few WIP for epic play, and there was an unofficial 'Book of the Magnakai' that details the levels to 30 aswell as alot of 'sideways' movement in the Kai class. That last one is fantastic reading, even if not (as far as I know) canon.

But really, you might want to make sure everyone of your players love the setting as it stands first and makes it to L20!

I'm working on three advanced classes for knights, the first is the Paragon Lord, at Lv21 they give up their Wealth, Privilege and (official) Rank and become Hermits or Wanders but in return they become Legendary figures and collect Paragon ratings in the other codes, an other is a Aristocratic Knight class taken anytime after 3rd where the knight takes on Feudal Rank and responsibilities and the last one is an Elite Warrior class also taken sometime after 3rd

Got Ideas for some of the other classes but don't know where to start with the Kai

I went the entire opposite way wit hthe knights, they start trying to take on the mantle of all knighthood. They make a LW -type quest to a nameless thinky sort of organisation of the GM's chosing (like LW and the Magi) to learn better modes of thoughts, etc, but otherwise it's a 15 level power trip grabbing as many advanced paragon powers and knight boosts as they can :D

Don't bother starting with the kai, I checked the book of the magnakai last night and it seriously has the grandmaster progression down pat, and so many alternate options for the kai lords at lower ranks to make them different it will make you weep! :)

Book by a 'fan' (I think the basic concenpt was developed while he was trying for a staff writer position)

It's not canon, but is well produced. It's for the OGL, and seems to be what you want for the Kai. The Grandmaster epic stuff is at the back.

There was a Sommerlund Guide (that I wrote) but that may see light of day for the new edition of the RPG.

There was also an article for the RPG on Port Bax. I may well have to re-write that for the current edition of Signs and Portents, since the first iteration of PB is set for MS 5000 and these articles are aimed at MS 5050.
