A variant on a scout ship variant's variant

Geir

Emperor Mongoose
It's no big secret that I'm working on an updated vehicle handbook. So what do I do to wind down and for a little bit of relaxation? Traveller solo stuff of course! I rolled up a character using my normal completely not by-the-book solo method. Main points:
1) get two 5s to replace dice on characteristic rollups and discard any character that still doesn't add up to 42,
2) pick your skill table after the roll,
3) if a background skill or rank skill is 'wasted' due to subsequent or previous skill acquisition, get a mulligan on a roll,
4) retroactively figure out two 'connection skills' and come up with a reason for them (especially if you need them to succeed in an event),
5) pick two skills to get at level 1 after the end of generation as a 'skill package'.

So the character, after a rough start, manages to survive four terms in the scout exploration branch before deciding to call it good and rolls for mustering out benefits and gets scout ship twice and a ship share twice. Now, I know you're supposed to roll again for scout ship, but I figure the second roll is good enough for a Serpent instead, and the Ship Share I always assume can be immediately applied to ship upgrades. But...

I'd already built (more distraction) a fancy version of the Serpent called the Quetzalcoatl that's got advanced stealth, does 6G and costs a lot. Too good, unless you're running it in PoD. But of course this week was also another week of watching a iterative Starship test flight, which got me thinking: the scout service probably made prototypes on their way to getting to their spy ship, so what happened to those prototypes after testing. And the Ket-C7 was born. It would make an interesting detached duty ship, especially for a pirate or 5FW campaign:
