Speaking as someone who is STILL waiting for some new Dilgar stuff, it's always nice for races to get variants.

They are dead, no one to operate the shipyards

I'm actually looking over the Dilgar 2nd ed ships right now, some new stuff alright. Shadowscout is quite a Dilgar fan

The Shadows and Vorlons have left, yet I bet they're still getting new stuff ;)

I think TB was hoping for, and indeed was promised, new Dilgar ships before the 3rd ice age.

as in the epoch or the movie?

Well I was promised Skinnie Venerable Marauders before the end of 2006....
Unless there is something for S&P (possible)

So now the Dilgar are waiting until Second Edition for more proper official stuff?

And then what of the Drakh? Hell, maybe the Drakh players will actually get a model for the Mothership when second edition releases.

Too many promises made and not kept. Things hinted at then forgotten about when the pressure was off.

I reckon this entire argument is pointless, because even if an official statement is made saying that the T'Koch or whatever it's called will be in 2e, that doesn't mean it will be. I'd take just about all "Official" statements made with a tablespoon of salt, never mind a pinch of salt.

tell me about it, I went on a few site visits, and come back, and I think EP took my coments sligtly out of context on page 6, but I see things moved on anyway (what i put about your coment to matt, primus etc was what I call tongue in cheek humour. You can tell Matt you are his love child if you feel it makes you happy, and I would never know)

**Edit**
Just to add an Apology to EP, I was clearly misunderstanding what a playtester does for a game, I had been lead to believe that they helped, um, test it, listen to the player base, feed back to the designers bugs, flaws etc. And have a connection to said designers, some influence and so on. My bad entirely.

dripping with sarcasm.....

in relation to your earlier questioning as to why I hadn't brought this to Matt's attention. A better question would be why hasn't Tank? If he supports the idea but won't suggest it why do I get stick when I voted no!?

well, up until recently, you were the playtesting representative on this thread. And of course it's dripping with sarcasm, I've spent all afternoon being nice to people who have broken the law, when I really wanted to do more than say oh well, we'll just send you a letter, we all need releases!
And I think because (as you rightly pointed out) you were the only one to give reasons for your No, which, it would seem, a large number of the posters don't agree with, and you got a bit passionate really (see, diplomacy, honesty, some manner of tact) you have to understand that the majority of posters have NO real contact with Matt, you are part of a select group who do, and you also know what is planned for 2nd ed, heck, you think you get stick now, wait until 2nd ed is released, you may as well emigrate! (ok, exageration, but you know as well as I that a lot of people will probably have big issues with it. Take Narn, I'm happy with the entire list as it stands bar 3 ships, whats the betting that a lot more than those 3 ships have been changed!)

Tank, or Indeed any playtester, would you please mention to Matt that a number of players would like consideration given to the G'Koch in 2nd ed, and an interim S+P article.
Thanks

Oh I know, I am under no illusions that a) people will complain about 2nd ed b) something is bound to slip through!
However I am still working hard to get it balanced

Which 3 ships out of interest?

The DagKar is too breakable, by far, it went from a scary as crap ship pre SFOS to waste od space apart from in very select scenarios. It's a level higher than the Sag, yet has the same hull, considerable less damage dealing and little more damage takeing (if you consider the one interceptor can make a diferance), the e-mine varients give it some use, but ship breakers have too short a range, especially when you consider the EA missiles
I quite like the Rothan, It's got a solid hull and does it's job well, the rongoth isn't as good, although all those dice on the front are fun, I also like the model for it!
The T'Loth is useful it takes a hell of a lot of killing, and no one evber all stops with that many troops on the board, would be nice to give it some boarding pods though? the T'Rann is a bit naff, I didn't even think about it to be honest.
That covers those ships, with a t'rann thrown in for good measure ;-)

I disagree with Hiff about the T'Loth, it's too weak. Sure it can take a beating, but it can't dish one out so everyone ignores it until the important stuff is dead and then they crit it out of the game. I'd chose a Rothan or Rongoth before a T'Loth any day and even those aren't great. It's just at Hull 6 they can't be critted out as easily as a T'Loth. Of course if I'm playing a 5 point Raid game you aren't going to see any of them in my fleet. It's going to be all Skirmish ships.
