Free Epic Campaign - The Pirates of Drinax

Not at all, we have just had the next part come in, and we are talking to the author about more!
@Matt
According to your last few posts prior to today you've had the next episode since mid October - but it hasn't been worked on or published?

Condottiere
"You may want to paint that or change the base colour."

Actually that's the modeling material: Sculpey. It comes in basic pink, very soft white, and grey. I mold parts then bake them. Then I add more parts to bake later. When I'm done I base coat and paint.

Sorry, but we have been very busy on other projects!
Matt - wasn't intending to harass; just keen to understand when/if we might see another episode as the two statements 'just received it' and 'had it since October but too busy' are rather contradictory.

Just a quickie on this...

We have been talking to writers, and we are determined to get this campaign (quite possibly one of the best written for any RPG!) done and dusted this year. We are so confident of this (!), that we are already talking to other writers about what the third epic campaign might look like :)

It's comfortably the best premade campaign I've played in any system, actually. We just finished Treasure Ship after like 18 months, it was incredible - battledress and PGMP duels in the control room, skullduggery, betrayal, stand offs. They ended up stealing the cargo and letting the ship go, an act of mercy I'll be sure to punish them for; they left Jagad alive to swear vengeance.

This seems to be the best place toa sk this, seeing as the thread's not TOO old.

I just started looking through this campaign, very cool idea, even if my players might take some covincing that Space Pirates are jsut as interesting as Godlen Age of Sail pirates... but I'm curious, I can't seem to find a subsector map in any of the books. Am I just blind or is there not one?

Edit: Wait, ignore me! I just thought to look in alien Module Aslan and, lo and behold, a secotr map for the Reaches. My bad! :D

So, I know it has only been a month since part 6 was released, but this campaign is so good, I can't let it die. And yeah, the thread un-sticky-ing was interpreted as an ominous sign.

When might we see chapter 7?

Might be unstick iced because it has just become pages of "When is the next one!?" Lol

Trying to wrangle back into the original form a bit - how are you guys integrating the 'scattered throughout' nature of the 6th adventure? I ask like many groups mine has completed a few of the adventures and I am unsure when to start seeding 6.

Granted though this is after a brief read over so I may have missed the "Easy Peasy Intergration" steps. Lol

Also - am aside - my group is just unwilling to do any sort or actual piracy for some reason. I'm putting the money crunch pressure on. I've dropped contacts info about good loot. I don't want to force them into it but they aren't gaining the resources to build contacts and bribes so much. I'm open for suggestions. :-)

Ps - forgive rambles as I've not had my coffee.

Interesting, my group had an actual debate this weekend about, "How pirate-y are we?" They were at the end of Adventure 1-- had captured Ferrik-- and were debating whether to turn him over to the planets or recruit him. Later on, there was a ship coming at them, but they were still too far away to get any details, and they decided to let it go.

What they seem to have decided on, was to follow the suggestion given by the Princess-- take a more diplomatic approach to empire-building and do good deeds, rather than raid the shipping lanes. The only ship they've taken was a freighter that had just been captured by some Oghmans. Right now, they are leaning towards taking down the Oghmans, which should win the gratitude of several worlds, right? Ah, well.

As for your group, I would say, keep the money pressure on them, as well as the King blustering about no prizes and no glory. Threaten to replace them with other ambitious nobles from the Floating City. I'll be doing that in a bit myself, but the 1 MCr prize money they gave to His Majesty has limited that so far.

Possibly. But (a) the Oghama Slavers are one of the few decently organised forces out there, even if they're less well armed than they'd like to be, and they won't be a pushover for one light patrol ship. More importantly, (b), taking down slavers is the sort of thing that gets publicly praised by everyone but privately really annoys their suppliers - you think that GeDeCo starport is just there as a waystation? Finally, (c), if you go in, wreck the place, and then let third parties know you did so, you essentially publicly announce the existance and allegiances of the Harrier. Not that that is something which might come back to bite you in the behind at any point or anything...

A) seems true, but I figure there's got to be one band with only a few ships that they can take.
B) is something they haven't thought about.
C) they weren't planning on letting word get back, if possible, or at least not revealing their Drinax ties before they had some successes under their belt. OR, they were also talking of picking on only one raider faction at a time.

I'm about 5,000 words in. Evil Hari Seldon awaits your pirates.

Great stuff! keep em coming.

My PCs are in the process of planning to take down the Glorious Empire and have seven planets declared for Drinax. Just picked up the old Pocket Empires supplement for T4 for some ideas on the ways of war and conquest. They are really getting into it now.
