I found King Oleb and his Hawk Warriors.
Unless I've missed something (which is certainly possible, as I don't have High Guard[*]), this is arrant nonsense. As I've always understoood it, the difference between a single, double, and triple turret was the number of weapons you could mount in it. Some waepons were too big to mount in double and triple turrets; you could mount a big weapon or a medium weapon or a small weapon in a single turret; you could mount one or two medium weapons or one or two small weapons in a double turret; and you could mount one, two or three small weapons in a triple turret. If you mount a big weapon in a turret, it would quite automatically have to be a single turret.hdan said:High Guard Errata, Page 47: "Only one particle beam may be fitted to a turret, but this must be a triple turret."

[*] MGT:High Guard, that is (I wish Mongoose hadn't duplicated the CT names for their books).

It simply means that the kind of turret required for a particle beamHans Rancke said:Unless I've missed something (which is certainly possible, as I don't have High Guard[*]), this is arrant nonsense.hdan said:High Guard Errata, Page 47: "Only one particle beam may be fitted to a turret, but this must be a triple turret."
Ah, that's the bit that I've missed. Double turrets cost more than single turrets and triple turrets cost more again. And upon checking I see that this goes back to Book 2, so I can't even hide behind Mongoose changing things while I wasn't looking.tneva82 said:Consider this additional drawback to particle beams. Not only are they expensive but they limit number of guns you can fit into weapon AND make it pricier to boot due to triple turret being more expensive than single turret.
Hans Rancke said:I think I would have called them small, medium and big turrets instead when there are some weapons that can't be fitted three to a triple turret. It sounds paradoxical. Anyway, I withdraw my comment about the arrant nonsense. It just sounds like nonsense!

I always liked one of the quotes from Space Captain Smith; "We are commencing intensive orbital...ah...diplomacy.""Diplomacy? Isn't that the thing where you shoot first, ask second?"
