Final Victory - Official CTA Tournament - May 5th

I have a Minbari fleet painted which can be rented on the day :)

Seriously though, I hope we're not going to be stuck with 10 bloody Centauri players :S

Well depneds on who gets bloody but I do see your point - on the other hand having spent well over £100 on ships I ain't swaping fleets.................. :D

I'm thinking, Victory, 10 WS, 6 Vaarls.

Closest one yet, but not quite there.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the concept of taking 2 Armageddon ships.

Yes you might have to recycle ships for game 1 and 2, and rely on your Armageddon ship to make up the slack in Game 3, but it is a viable tactic.

So 2 Victory's, a few White Stars and some Vree Scouts - certainly got the power............... :)

2 victory's would be 8/10 FAP's...So 2 white stars and vree scouts...

Interesting concept but somehow I doubt it would be all that effective :D

1 Victory
1 WS Carrier
mix of WS-2's and WS not sure if I'd take 2 WS over a WS-2 I like the 3+ dodge
3 Vaarls

close?

Well I am taking pure Drazi. I think Centauri is a bit of a cop out as they are the most powerful fleet, just think of the challenge of using another fleet. Or if you must use Centauri don't bring prefects or tertius, that will make for a more interesting game

I shall be rather dissapointed if I just lose to 4 Centauri fleets, would like a bit of variety

I had an idea for Matt, if enough people turn up with Centauri fleets then just make them play each other, that balances out the cheese and let's the rest of us play a game we may just possibly win What do you think??

the main reason I took Centauri was they would play each other....a draw works well for you other players don't forget...and is what i'm hoping for to be honest
the last tourney i think you played centauri beam team.....yes?

1 Tertius - never used one before and no Prefects - hope thats ok!? :)

Well, you never play the same person twice - so chances are that yes, you could end up playing a Centauri player for all 4 games. There certainly seem to be enough of them so far.

I had to fight 2 centauris last time i took them. but then last time i took minbari I had to face them 2 out of 4 times.
only reason for centauri for me is its most painted fleet i got and easiest one for me to make 10pts of battle with.
could have taken narn or ISA but that would require painting the entire fleets.

Hi TGT!!!

Yep my one and only tournament I took centauri, hardly ever played before and thought they would be a good newby's fleet, which I still believe they are, the beam team are quite simple to play for new players. I am looking forward to 2e cutting the beams down to size so I can get my Vorchans out again. I wouldn't mind bringing my Centauri with me this time they are a nice fleet but would be ashamed and have to put a bag on my head incase anyone recognised me and accused me of beam cheese :)

I like to use historical ships, but can't see the point of playing if I know I am going to loose so the Vorchans sadly stay at home.

Problem is if you are a centauri player you are going to want to play with your better ships that is just human nature. I have played since with tertius, but refuse to use the Prefect, that is just my personal choice though.

Katadder, I had the same problem, 10 points of battle is bad enough, but then be able to field 2 5 point skirmish fleets out of it? I tried and none of my fleets came close. I decided to pad out my Drazi in the end because :-
They never made it to the november tournament last year
They have lots of skirmish and patrol level ships
That big stormfalcon thing seems a reasonable battle level ship.

Lots of downers too, only one real choice at battle level, basically none at raid or war, lousy initiative, no dogfighting fighters, and everything is boresighted. But they are purple so who cares :)
