The last official tournament for the first edition of Babylon 5: A Call to Arms is due to be held at Mongoose's offices in Swindon, UK, on May 5th. As it is the last tournament with these rules, we are going to be doing something a little different! Players will find themselves fighting for the survival of one of their colonies, while trying to grab territory from their enemies - they will have to manage their fleets, guard against all eventualities, and plan ahead to ensure Final Victory!

If you fancy a good rumble on May 5th, you can book your place for just £5. Places are going to be extremely limited, so contact us early for the best chance of entry.

You can book you place either by PayPal (to paypal@mongoosepublishing.com), credit card by phone (01793 434488) or by sending a cheque made payable to Mongoose Publishing Ltd to the address below.

So, grab a fleet, and test your mettle against the best admirals in the galaxy!

So if this is the last - When does 2e become mandatory?

Will there be Original ACTA tourneys perhaps, or is it only going to be new and improved 2e - like new Coke? :)

Given that 2e will be the main rules, every ACtA event run by Mongoose will use them. I guess so will every other event for that matter. Don't worry about it though, the game will be better for it!

sounds interesting, Swidon is a bit of a ballache to get too, but I'll check my calander.
I like it, "following a player outcry, mongoose is proud to releaseACTA CLASSIC!" heh heh heh

**rats, the 9 o'clock registration has taken me out of the equation, the earliest I can get to Swindon on the great rail network is 9am anyway, but that is with getting the 5.30AM train from Manchester. with no trams and no busses running at that time, I'd have trouble getting to the station in the first place. **

I'm signed up. Sounds interesting, some strategy will be needed :)

Couple of questions:

1) Is the new Troligan allowed? Rulesmasters says it would be, but the PDF doesn't mention it in the list of allowed S&P ships. Can we have 100% confirmation please?

2) What happens to launched fighters or Drakh Raiders if the carrier is destroyed? Can they join the fleet list as independent wings and be fielded in the next battles?

3) Do other duties such as "Diverting Raid" (opponent has 1 FAP less in next battle) apply? How does this work if your next battle is the 4th one, which has no FAP limit?

also could carriers perhaps regenerate fighters between battles? would be pretty cool.
Well it says no damage is repaired, even for self-repairing ships, so I doubt it.

I've signed up, and I'd like to add a couple of questions:

Can you swap Missile/Emine loadouts between games? Can you do so once yo uknow who your opponent is?

Is it 1 VP for each flight of fighters, regardless of it being an indpendent or ship borne flight.

Can the ISA have 1 FAP of allies in their starting fleet list?

Cheers

Another Question:

Can you take Space stations in your fleet lists. nothing I or Low Roller can see says not. ANd on that note we also noticed that in Armageddon, nothing prevents the Orion taking Missile variants.

My immediate reaction is no, but let me consider it.

1. It's name isn't on the list, it ain't getting in.

2. Can't see any reason why not.

3. Of course.

one other question - we can use xp to get damage back, but how do you get crew back? I know ISA fleets will need their crews back more than anyone.

If non-ancients get their criticals wiped off between games, can ancients get a free damage repair roll for any damaged ships before they enter the next round? :)

Hopefully my place should be booked - did the ol' paypal thing last night.

I suggest anyone who wants to go and hasn't signed up yet should do so very soon, places were going fast at the BF:Evo tourney today for the ACTA tourney.

To illustrate the speed of takeup, the tourney was announced at 0123 am, I phoned in at 1030 the same day and I am 5th on the sign up list.
