Extra gear/pouches for USMC miniatures.

This may be too soon to be thinking about, but I've noticed that the marines don't have enough packs and pouches on them IMO. Don't get me wrong, these look like the best minis I've seen, but I was wondering which miniatures/model company made the best model gear for these kinds of miniatures?

Maybe they have a Mule?

Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle

The Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle is a 2.5-ton Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) that will support dismounted operations. It consists of four major components:

* Mobility platform or common chassis.
* Autonomous Navigation System (ANS). The ANS is the mission payload package that will be integrated on both the Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle and Armed Robotic Vehicles (ARVs) to provide a robotic semiautonomous capability, and also on the family of Manned Ground Vehicles (MGVs) to provide a leader-follower capability.
* Operator Control Unit (OCU).
* Three Mission equipment packages/variants.

The Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle is sling-loadable under military rotorcraft. The Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle has three variants sharing a common chassis: transport, countermine and the Armed Robotic Vehicle (ARV)-Assault-Light (ARV-A-L). The transport Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle will carry 1,900-2,400 pounds of equipment and rucksacks for dismounted infantry squads with the mobility needed to follow squads in complex terrain. The countermine Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle will provide the capability to detect, mark and neutralize anti-tank mines by integrating a mine detection mission equipment package from the Ground Standoff Mine Detection System (GSTAMIDS) FCS program. The Armed Robotic Vehicle (ARV)-Assault-Light (ARV-A-L) Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle is a mobility platform with an integrated weapons and reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition (RSTA) package to support the dismounted infantry's efforts to locate and destroy enemy platforms and positions. The Multifunctional Utility/Logistics and Equipment (MULE) Vehicle platform's centerpiece is superior mobility built around an articulated suspension system to negotiate obstacles and gaps that a dismounted squad might encounter.

Try TAG miniatures they sell bits. MOLLE packs, canteens and, other gear.

Hmmm, not sure about the quality. I think I might use some leftover gear from Warhammer 40k imperial guardsmen.

I'm going to try the TAG stuff. I really like their figs and there's a pic on the Dadi & Piombo website of one of their Italian figs wearing a TAG Molle pack. The 40k Stuff should work and it looks great. That's what I am using for the grenade and ammo pouches.

Which reminds me, it's still warm enough to spray paint outside!

see ya

Our marines are stripped down for combat. Obviously there are dozens of different equipment variations available to almost every army depending on circumstance, but I for one like my models to be ready for a scrap and not a hike. :wink:

MG Old Bear, true, but pouches are where ammo is stored, although my Marines are gonna look like they are on a hike, theyll have ammo :D

Yeah, and all that gear kinda gives them a more badass look. Can't explain why, but it's just something about having a lot of bullets around your body.

Yeah, I believe it's all about hanging packs and pouches on the vest these days.

everything has gone from alice to molle...

in 9 years in the army i was only ever given the old vietnam era LBE suspenders with the 3mag ammo pouches. so i went out and got myself an LBV. it distributes the load more evenly.

first week in the air force the give me a big zippered bag of assorted molle pouches of varying shape/size (and usefulness) along with two different style of LBV/Harnessing.

The nice thing about Molle being that the interceptor body armor has all of the Molle attachment points built right onto it, so you dont need to put an LBV over it. Your ammo, first aid, i-pod and pop-tarts are right there attached to you, ready to be dumped off in one fell swoop once you get back to the hooch.

A fat budget is a glorious thing.

I think Mongoose should create their own gear models that could be used for every army. Also every modern army, or at least Britain and USA should have hydration packs.
