EM Pulse Guns, Blasters, and Shields

This conversation seems to be entirely orientated about the numbers and fact the the EM gun isn't the best gun for taking out shields.

The problem is that the EM gun should be the best weapon for taking out shields. After all, it was described in the Fading Suns RPG as "a gun designed solely to burn-out a shield". The rules for EM guns don't need a fix, they don't make it useless. But wouldn't it be nice, if the "anti shield" gun would be the most effective way to take out shields?

Your stark raving mad Mroczny!

Anti-Shield weaponry excelling at killing shields? You've gone over the hill Sir!, been too long without a hat in the summer sun! Why your positively playing marbles with only half a bag!

Where will this end? What will you insist upon next? Raiders that are actually useful? 360' Degree Gatling Lasers? and dare I say it? Useful gallots!

poppy-cock!

Its perfectly obvious to anyone of Noble breading that a dedicated anti-shield weapons are suppose to be second rate! That's why they were sold to the li-Halan to begin with by the Decados, its all part of House politics my'boy! You don't trick your enemies to using up their heavy turrets with EM guns and then insist they be improved!

Now I hope you understand and wont insist on any more of this foolishness....

I'm just a simple-mined soldier... I do not comprehend all these political maneuvering. All I want is to get equipment I can count on on a battlefield.
Now I clearly see that someone must have paid the Supreme Order of Engineers a huge amount of money to convince then to make the EM guns faulty. I've heard that the Engineers dislike making devices that are not perfect... ;-)

You see - that's where you're wrong. We paid them to put a fully functional communications laser in a new casing and it seems to be working just fine. Not as a weapon, I'll grant you.......
