I'm in the states. I don't think it was aired on this side of the pond, and if it was, I wasn't born until after the show was cancelled or whatever.

I'm pretty sure Blackadder was aired on PBS a few years ago.

This is good news. Now I can finally do the Battle of Culebra - 1905 aka "Trafalgar In The Tropics". While the actual sea wars (Russo-Japanese and Spanish-American) had their share of naval engagements, there are innumerable what-ifs that can be very fascinating.

William Laird Clowes wrote an excellent book called "Trafalgar Refought" which transposes the battle of Trafalgar 100 years to 1905 and exchanges ships of the line for predreadnoughts and armoured cruisers. The book also includes tables of the ships involved and their real world surrogates which makes it ideal for alt-history wargaming.

Thanks for the reference. BTW, I've visited your website several times in the past. It's a good one. My reference for the Battle of Culebra is from Dr. Holger Herwig's excellent book, "The Politics of Frustration: The American Navy and German Strategic Planning". The section in there on Ops Plan III (the proposed German invasion of the US) is fascinating.
Avalanche Press (www.avalanchepress.com) has an entire series of wargames based on the various Plans (Plan Red, Plan Gold, etc.) The scenarios are excellent and I expect that they would easily translate into Victory at Sea. BTW, have you ever played SeeKrieg?
