Draconic Illumination

Are dragonewts limited like humans wih this skill? I mean, can be DI higher than dance, insight o meditation? Can dragonewts use DI in place of Perception or Persistence or against hostile spirits like humans? Or is DI from dragonewts independent of the DI from Cults of Glorantha?

EDIT: I have seen that they are not limited by Insight, Meditation or Dance, but still I do not know if they can use DI with another uses.

Could a dragonewt use Draconic Ilumination in place of Persistence, like humans do? Or should they use draconic illumination only for casting spells?

I was wondering about illumination from none draconic sources i.e. NiangMao, Lokamayadon, or Nysalor.

In principal I can see how they could work with similar frame work to Draconic Illumination, however the problem I've got is the powers they produce.
Other than the bizarre powers attributed to them in previous editions:

ie.
Can become chaotically tainted but not detected as such (ie storm bulls).
Protected from deities spirits of retribution.
And may join opposed cults.

NiangMao is close to realworld Jainism in outlook, would the mystic powers be:
Ignore Hunger, Ignore pain or would that be their Abjuration
Should they have powers similar to draconic paths?

Any ideas anyone?

I don't think Nysalorian Illumination is around much - I think it sits out the Second Age, and returns as a significant factor in Glorantha during the Third Age as a result of the awakening of Dorastor. Of course, Dorastor is awakening already in 900 SA, so it can factor in an RQ2 Second Age game. Maybe it is a result of God Learner meddling anyway, I can see Nysalorian Illumination being very useful to the GLs.

And, I'd suggest, by the Red Goddess becoming enlightened (or "awakening her enlightened aspect? - Rashornan Illumination IIRC) as a result of encountering Nysalor while Heroquesting.

I'm not sure how different these various sources of illumination are (It probably depends on who you ask anyway?)

Maybe the God Learners Secret is (a form of) Illumination anyway?
