Also, if the countering sorceror only has one action left, is he out of luck? Is his only option to counter just one incoming spell (presumably the one on himself, if he is targetted) and then deal with the rest of the spells after they are cast?
If the spells are both Combined and Targetsed, with say Diminish STR, Diminish CON & Diminish DEX against 4 targets, is that 12 spells that need to be countered, or just 4? *Edit*: I just realised that this is 4 castings of Neutralise Magic, with 3 Magnitude required to deal with the three Magnitude 1 spells, if none has been added in the casting. If 1 Magnitude had been added, it would need Magnitude 6 to Neutralise, which shows the value of a little bit of Magnitude for good measure. Edit 2: I guess if the incoming spells do have Magnitude 2 each, and Magnitude 3 is used in the Neutralise, it will stop one of the spells but not the other two. I'd use a dice roll to determine which spell gets countered, unless is there any other convention established for working out which equal-magnitude spell is neutralised first?
Does the countering sorceror get to know how many spells are incoming and against what targets, or do they have to make a perception roll or have Mystic Vision up?[/i]
