Character creation spreadsheet

PhilHibbs

Mongoose
Calculates derived attributes, and has columns for adding up skill levels. For Advanced Skills, anything entered in the "Cltr" (Culture) column, even a 0, makes the skill "active" and the values are then summed up, so Advanced Skills that you don't have yet will remain blank. I think I've got all the characteristic base chances right but I knocked this out late last night and haven't really tested it yet. Damage Bonus does not work for STR+SIZ > 60. Cells in light blue are the ones that should have stuff put in them.

*Update*: See latest post for latest version. Link above removed as I am no longer sharing the master copy.

I will endeavour to update this link with the latest shared version (1.3 at last update).

It opened directlt in Google Spreadsheets but won't let me enter anything in the light blue cells, Phil. Is there a bug? Are they erroneously protected?

You'll need to save your own copy, or download it and open it in OpenOffice. Also, if I change anything in my "master" copy then it will change in that link, so if I'm working on it then clicking that link will show you a half-finished broken thing. I'll make a copy to avoid that happening...
here's a copy, I'll try to update this copy whenever I finish making any changes, or maybe I'll do a version number thing so that older revisions are still available if people prefer them.
This online docs thing takes a bit of getting used to.

v1.1 - better calculation of skill base chances - put "POW+CON" next to the skill and it adds your POW and CON together!
I think the issue mentioned above is fixed in this one as I re-did them all.
Yeah, Loz, I'll see if I can work out how the Hit Point chart works.

Could you add "Profession" to the top section? (Or did I miss it). Also, just to fit with the RQ II terminology, perhaps "Adventurer" would be better than "Character".

Thanks for the spreadsheet, it'll really come in handy. I'm tempted to do a web version, but....

v1.3 has a space for Profession, and says Adventurer instead of Character. Had to remove the top row as Google Docs will only freeze the top 10 rows.

Poll: Should I figure in Dedicated POW to the first Pact skill? That would work for single-cult-membership but would break if the Dedicated POW is split between two cults.

Very nice... I'm glad somebody knows those tricksy spreadsheets better than I do.

It works fine in my excel 2010 too btw.

Are you going to update it based on erata? I know something changed that only used two stats instead of three stats... can't recall off the top of my head.

SR is now the average of INT and DEX, rounded up. They dropped SIZ from the calculation.

It is on page 5, second column of the conversion and errata PDF.

SR calculation updated as per errata - anyone using an older version please remember to fix this calculation! Just copy and paste the SR formula cell, or edit it to read: =CEILING((B5+B7)/2,1)
