Character creation spreadsheet

v1.5 of the OpenOffice version now has more buttons - "Reset" sets the stats back to default (10s and 13s), "Roll Min 7" will re-roll anything below a 7, and "Roll 4K3" will roll 1 extra die for each stat and discard the lowest die.

I'm not planning on adding anything that the player has to choose, such as which skills they choose from their Background or Profession. That would require complex scripting, which would be different from OpenOffice to Excel, and not possible at all in Google Documents as far as I know. I might do something with formatting so your automatic and optional skills get highlighted, but that's quite a lot of work.

Hm, Google Docs doesn't support conditional formatting that is based on other cells, so I can't make the Athletics Culture column go green if the Culture is "Civilized". I can make the OOo version do that though.

OK, so I wasn't planning on it, but I did it anyway:
v1.6 has cultural base chances, picks them up from the first character entered in the Culture box (B, C, N, P). Choices are highlighted in light blue, with pop-up annotations indicating how many choices there are to make, and what combat styles are available. I had to move the Skills across so they aren't in the same columns as the other stats, because the column widths work better that way. It looks a little odd but I think it's slightly better like this.

Don't bother asking for Professions! Cultures is only possible because there are only 4 of them, I'm not adding 30 columns for theose! Hm, 30 columns, maybe that isn't too many...

*Update*: Nearly right - but some of the minor informational calculations above the skills aren't working correctly. Ignore the numbers below the "X"es for now...

*Update*: Fixed. The values under the "X" go yellow as you add in optional values, and go green when the numbers of choices and the total of the skill points all add up, and go red if you go over.

It works fine in my excel 2010 too btw.
I doubt the "Roll" button does! I'll do an Excel version with a working Roll button some time.

Btw, although you are right about the buttons... if you download it from google docs, it seems to work better than importing the OO version into office.
