Sure, and we see an Omega fire a rear laser when it wasn't meant to have them, and because of this it now has rear lasers. Nothing we can do about CGI cock-ups, but when they are indentified as such we could disregard them. So the Omega would lose the rear lasers to be in line with what was intended for the ship rather than what was seen...

I don't know where the idea of no rear lasers comes from as we see them in a few episodes. It might be from the bit at the start of Severed Dreams?
Now Hyperions firing lasers I consider a cock-up

I wouldn't expect anything else, personally, I would up it's beam power somewhat and boresight it, the WS beam is as powerful as much larger ships beams, we see that in the show.

however, if anyone uses the term canon to explain why something in second ed happens, I reserve the right to go to their house (if it's in the UK, I WILL find it) and throw custard flans at them!

good thing I don't live in the UK! some things have been added that people will debate

That's what I was told, anyway. Apparently we see an Omega shoot a laser at a Hyperion chasing it during the civil war. I was told the laser was meant to be a pulse cannon and the CGI lads got it wrong. I don't recall who it was that said that...

for sure, but the canon argument will hold very little water now!
hmmm, Ireland, nope, I doubt my databse covers Ireland (republic of..)

well the hyperion shooting at said omega that fired backwards did get its laser intercepted - a fighter flew in the way just as it was about to hit the omegas spinning section.

It is scary what you can do with a copy of the postcode database, electoral register and reverse-lookup phone directory

but we are talking a laser that can cut through hulls, one starfury wouldnt stop its energy.

also on hyperions. the one that was helping B5 defend the great machine from the aliens didnt have side guns, it had turreted guns on top, that could fire port or starboard, so do we want dual arc guns for the hyperion that can only fire one direction per turn?

everyone focuses on the rear laser, what about the hyperion?

what about it? I'm trying to remember what it fired in "in the begining"
not seen em for a long time though

thats easy, turret A fires to port, turret B fires to starboard ;-)
