Bureau 13

What does anyone know about this mysterious black ops Earth Alliance Intelligence organization? I know they were supposedly responsible for the Lazarus Project which created Human cyborg soldiers but what else? I think I read in the Psi Corps factbook that the Bureau is quite close with the Corps but thats about it. Nothing in the Earth Alliance factbook from what I have seen.

So what do we know about them? I have recently gotten to like the darker nature of the EA and their numerous secret projects as well as organizations that work secretly.

The Bureau operates out of a base in the nuclear wasteland that is San Diego. San Diego was nuked in a terrorist attack.

I always got the impression that 13 was mostly a smokescreen used by Psi Corp and, later, Clarke and the Shadows, to keep people like Sheridan chasing phantoms. The way it shows up but never really amounts to anything makes it seem to me like its something that they funnel some of their black projects through just to give a name for people to chase down.

But I could certainly be wrong on that.

Heh so basically they were radical nutjobs who suddenly realized they were mainstream and in line with the current administration.

(That would amuse me more if I didn't live in America. :roll: )

JMS decided to drop Bureau 13 from the "public" light , due to the fact the he believed that at that point of the series there were too many active power/secret gropus and conspiracies in the story , so B13 dissapeared... but they could be anywhere under the surface , and they can be the perfect evil (or otherwise useful for the GM) antagonist for the PCs...

After all , nothing is more scary that a powerful enemy that can reach almost everywhere and everyone , and that cannot be seen or totally struck with a single blow...

Generally, if I ever wonder about what JMS thought or thinks about something, I usually just search http://www.jmsnews.com for answers. They're usually there.

This is also what I like about being the GM. I have this compuslion to find out what REALLY (according to JMS and the show) happened, and then double check this with the Mongoose-books, iron out the things that contradict eachother, check what I know about the books and the comics, iron some more, and then, with that basis, toss it all to the wind and make things up as I go along.

Takes a while for me to prepare for each session, yes. Why do you ask.
