Broos and Adventurers

Mongoose
Greetings

Has anyone seen the Broos miniatures due out next week. They look nice in the photos but at UK£20 for 8 figures it makes me wince a bit.

Secondly, do we know if Mongoose are intending to produce adventurers at some point? I've still got my old RQ figures in the original boxes but I suspect they are 25mm and the new stuff is 28mm.

Regards

Mongoose has an adventure for release this month called Runes of Chaos. And to blow my own horn we'll have 2 RuneQuest adventures this month as well, titled Danger in the City of Immer and Outpost Qether.

Hyrum.

Adventurers, not adventures, Hyrum, as in minis. Nice to see that there will be some adventure support, though. :)

Mongoose may come out with some adventurer minis later on, but since you can -- generally -- use most any human mini for those from any number of sources, I suspect they'll be focusing on the creatures that are visually unique to RQ, such as the broos, ducks, trolls, etc.

SCORPION MEN! BABOONS! GORPS! YEAH!

(though I usually just cough up some phlegm when I need a gorp mini)

How about some cardboard heroes?
heroes, civilians and troops

-lunars, different provinces (renliddi :))
-knights on horse demons (ethilrist)
-orlanthi
-scorpion men :)
-trolls
-please no gorps or baboons (yuck)
-durulz
-kralori
-broos
-aldryami

-or you bring on some cardboard heroes for the 2nd age.

a wonderful wishlist. These should sufficient to be interesting for the MRQ customer. And they are cheaper than metal minis.

Do anybody know if MRQ allows for tactical combat on a square-grid?

Doh! I skipped right past the "ers" part. :)

I'm sure Mongoose will have the only licensed NEW RQ figs.

Hyrum.

There was at one point a Trolls & Trollkin boxed set on the release schedule, but they mysteriously vanished!

Coincidence?

Conspiracy?

You decide....

And anyway What's wrong with Baboons eh?

Lance & Laser produces a nice line of HeroQuest figures for Issaries, and I think these will scale well with the stuff Mongoose is doing.

I own many of these minis and they are top-notch.

Also, I cannot wait to get my hands on MGP's new Duck minis. When will we see them?

nice minis.
Do anybody know if the Mongoose minis are prepainted? Or am I forced to paint them myselves?

They are not pre-painted. You'll have to paint 'em yourself, which is nice if you like that sort of thing.

Pöö. The last time I was thrilled by painting minis is 15 years ago. :(
