Breaching Pods and troops

When a ship has breaching pods on board, do the troops they carry come from the ships troop count?

For example:

The Skrunnka-class Assault Ship comes with

14 breaching pods
16 troops

If I launched all the pods, would the ship only have 2 troops left? or does the breaching pods have their own troops?

Pretty sure the pods take a troop each from the ship. Only pods bought as independant wings have their own troops as far as I know.

I thought that the only time you used troops from the ship was when the breaching pod was replacing a flight of fighters.

I was under the impression that they took that troop from the ship, regardless of whether they replaced a fighter or not

Is there a page ref for this, as I can't see it anywhere. I can see the point behind it, just would like to know for certain.
