I'm not that familiar with the Lone Wolf rpg, and it took some digging on Amazon to determine that its "half-size" is roughly 8" x 8". Rather unusual.
8.5 x 5.5.
It is simply to make it more affordable (looking to retail at £9.99). A class-leading system at that price - who can resist? And yes, the supplements will follow the same format.
Is the layout going to be all new with a reasonable size type for the body text? I find the size of text to be a tad too small in the Traveller LBBs.

New writers may want to take the system in their own directions, so I wonder if they'll have the same level of genius. I sincerely wish Mongoose the best in finding writers of such a high calibre. Honestly, Pete and Loz have put together arguably the greatest fantasy RPG system in existence... statues should be built in their honour
2) Will the new books under wayfarer (or whatever) be re-releases of the RQII books? I know we've been told that everything is 100% compatible, but will my future players be able to get their hands on their own Arms & Equipment or other core books?
3) Will there be a pdf available that gives me access to the material in the wayfarer versions of books that is not in my RQII version?

1. We won't be touching the core system, so new writers will be free to pursue their own directions but will be confined to new settings and supplements. The game itself won't change.
2. Some will be - we will do a re-release of Monster and A&E, for example. Likely Empires too, though a little later.
3. If there is additional rules material, yes.
Thank-you for the answers. I appreciate that the books I currently own will not have to be replaced, but that others in the group and new people I bring the system to will have access to in-print material. All and all, if wayfarer goes ahead in a timely fashion as described in this thread, I think it is a very positive development compared to what else could have happened. A name and setting change I hope will bring people to the game who have otherwise stayed away.msprange said:1. Or was it maybe the swedish guy, Frekdrik Malmberg who has the rights to all Conan stuff (I think it's him who is behind the new movie).

I am actually one of those who liked the more bitesize 1st ed rule books. There was enough in the core book to be a playable game and to see if I liked the system without having to plough through a massive book. I later picked up the other books once I appreciated the core.duncan_disorderly said:We had to buy the overpriced slim multi-volume first edition rules because they failed to grasp that people would prefer to have all the rules in a single volume
