BF Evo, future weapons

There's been a goute on infantry-scale tech on my sources, since anything they report is either an update on policy or I've already posted pictures on.

I'm not going to do larger things since BF:EV isn't scaled to, say, Ships.

Damn... I was going to ask for an aircraft carrier battle group with appropriate cards of each ship!

Speaking of future weapons, yesterday on sky channel " cannot think which one once " Bugger me..!!!

New series of Future weapons, its on 3-4 times a day, thursday was the msaw launcher and semi auto .50 sniper rifle
Today is Dragon armour...

Go grab a tv guide guys, a lot of weapon stuff on sky this week...

I have seen most of the Future Weapons episodes here in the US on Discovery. It is a great show and I lov the tech. The .50 Cal. Semi-auto Sniper is AWSOME! Dragon Armor is very cool to [a Kevlar vest that can take a .45 Cal round and not breach! It can also stop grenade schrapnel at point blank! :)

yeah saw that yesterday, the sniper rifle was great. But I can't help finding Richard Mackiewicz irritating. Not as irritating as Ty Pennington from Extreme Makeover:Home Edition but still..... :x

Huh? Why not just use the sniper rifle on them..... its not like you actually have to get that close to them with it. (just remember to keep the bullet clean, and then ditch the barrel somewhere in the middle of the Irish Channel on your way home).

Yes but how much does it weigh?

When I demo BFE to new players I oftne describe it as Future Weapons: The Miniature Game. It tends to get them interested.

I just wish there were more future weapons in the game. So far all there is is the Shadows with nothing else on the horizon. For a war that takes place 15 years in the future we sure are using a lot of old weapons. :?

What the hell do you think will be used in 15 years, jet packs, and battlemechs? The shadows have already been passed over for the Couger, by the USMC. Doubt the Chem system will be in much use even in 15 years. Aplication of technology will all lag due to constrants in resourses and MONEY.

The future of 15 or even 30 years will still have the modern weapons and tech used today, and even tech used in the 1960 in many nations. Weapons and weapon systems are very slowly phased out, because if a nation already has them, until they prove useless there is no real reason to upgrade to a new system. It is much easier to simply upgrade the old. Thus the reason why there is SO many different varients of different vehicles. To be realistic, the game should reflect that. Otherwise you might as well play Ogre, or Starship Troopers.

I think the USMC will end up fielding both the Cougar and Shadow. I am pretty sure the Shadow is just intended as a replacement for the Hummer in Recon units, which is not a role the Cougar is particularly well suited for. Heck, the Shadow can be toted in an Osprey, which the cougar is WAY to heavy for. MRAPs like the Cougar will be great for transport/convoy work, but they are too havy for the role that the Shadow is designed for. Hopefully, we will see both.

As far as Future Wepaons in the game, there are quite a few. The FIST technology of the Brits and the M320 and SCAR-L for the Force Recon are not in deployment as far as I know. T-99s for the PLA are presently only equipped to 2 units, but should be the MBT in 15 years time, Landwarrior type gear is in limited testing for the US, and even the 40mm turret for the Warrior is pretty new or still being deployed.

now its been upgrded the bulldog looks like it has alot more life in it with reports its armour is as good as a warriors but on a much small vehicle, lessons learnt from this upgrade looks like there be implimented on the old scimiters as well, basicly new engines, new weapon systems and new anti RPG armour is the order of the day and cheap to impliment.

id like to see them in the game, i recon shadow stats (bit less speed) no ckem and a 2+ armour save. would be the order of the day for these.

ive looked at all the armour for infantry posted here and one thing struck me as odd, from what pics off legs i can find here, there seems to be a lack off armour for soldiers shins, why?

lol

probably due to the fact steel toe caped boots are banned from geneva convention due to bully behavoure in CQB's and are no longer needed.
