Battle Report

Arabin and I were finally able to meet up and play some GOMC1.

I unfortunately did not have my Mongoose "official" gang ready so I used some rebased Heroclix to start. I am hoping to have them done soon. Jeesh, it's been a year since I purchased them.

GAME 1

GAME 2

Just thought I'd let Mongoose know that people do play this game.

I enjoyed that, thanks!

The terrain does look smart, too. I use bits of Worldworks mixed in with 3D stuff.. and it's always nice to read of other people's ugly battles.

I killed a friend's Top Dog last night. He lost his Lieutenant the fight before. He's fuming.

Which World Works sets are you using, just the base urban set or with the expansion?
It looks great

We used the Streets of Mayhem, Mayhem Industrial, Kitbash Urban Park, Bits of Mayhem, and terrain from the Rezolution starter set (which is also done by World Works Games).

Really cool, especially like the board!

WOuld like to know the sources for other apes (heroclix? a lot of the Pinkies look like ones I own!).

LOL, the H'umans are rebased clix since I had not finished getting my Mongoose gang painted.

And since they don't offer enough Apes individually, I'm going to have to use other apes from other companies to finish my Ape Gang.

I'll see if I can get Arabin to either pop in or at least let me know what brand of apes he was using (he told me but I forgot).

My arse is back, briefly... and I'd show a photo to prove it but that might be frowned upon :)

The terrain in this set up was mostly by me... I'm hoping CCotD will have some buildings for next time to mix things up a bit. Thanks for the kind words on the set up. The statue in the park was a Lemax one I picked up cheaply after Christmas.

Ok, here goes for the sources of my apes:

Top Dog: Team Frog Studios
LT: DC Heroclix - Collateral Damage
Gorilla Juve: Horrorclix - The Lab
Lady Chimp Punk: Modified Dreamblade Base Set mini
The other chimps are all Mongoose ones from the Ape Gang set.

Spug the Law!

Nice Battle Reports Petitbilbo. It's a shame some of the photos are so small, but I do like what you've done with your terrain. I'm curious what happened during fights 4 and 5... were they fights that did not involve The Blasters?

After reading report seven, it sounds like you will soon attract the attention of a full squad of judges to do a crime sweep of your gangs location. With 67 rep, your gang will attract some serious fire power from the Justice Department.

I can't wait to read the next report.

Hi Arabin,

I'm really a big fan of WWG and I'm eagerly awaiting the next extentions to Mayhem to come out (Underground, Urban Grind and PD).

Fights 4 and 5 did not involve the Blasters and that's why there's no report: I'm the only one doing them in the campaign, so whenever I'm not present, there no report.
Actually, I started writing those reports to improve the other player's enthousiasm for the campaign. It worked for some time...

The Blasters have already "almost but not quite" beaten the Judges in battle 6 and are ready to do so again.
(The thing is, I've prepared all the members with some special traits and so on to withstain the full might of the Judges. As far as that is at all possible of course.)

We are in some sort of a pause right now, no fight has been done since two weeks and I am beginning to worry... it wouldn't be the first time that such a campaign gets stuck in the middle.

The overall state of affairs is that the
  • Rippers are too weak to be a thread to anyone and could no possibly win any battle for the time being
  • The Steroids and the NAME are somewhere in the middle and
  • the Blasters are just too strong for anybody to defy with any chance of success. (But that's kind of normal, as I am also the player with the most GoMC1 experience of the lot)

The next few fights should therefore more or less all involve the Judges so as to radically level the playing field.

Two weeks between games is pretty good. We've just started up and are only getting together once a month, but we got a couple of games in last month. Hopefully, others will be joining us soon but we've had problems scheduling everyone to get together.

Your gang may have almost survived against the judges before, which was impressive... but remember, all you faced at the time were street judges. The Justice Department has lots of tricks up it's sleeves, and a smart player should be able to beat you down... of course, the dice decide who lives and dies at the end of the day.

I think we have a while in our campaign before the judges get called in, since we are fairly close on rep right now. We are both going to start a second gang as well, to mix things up a bit.

I'm also excited for the upcoming WWG sets... especially Mayhem PD.

Pssssst! Don't say that in a public place !
My ennemies are reading here too...

No, more seriously, the reason why I almost won against the Judges was simply that my adversary played them for the very first time!

Next time will be much harder!

petitbilbo (who's still asking himself what Rob Alderman has against PDF files...)

Well, the Blasters got a verrrry serious licking yesterday...

The Judges managed to leave only 3 members of the gang (REP drop from 67 to 15) and the Rippers came right behind and finished cleaning up...

Ouch!

;)

Sorry to hear things turned out badly for your gang after the judges paid you a visit, but it was inevitable with you getting so much tougher than everyone else. It's a shame when gangs get beating back so much... hopefully you will be able to rise from the ashes and gain back your rep.

You mentioned that the Rippers attacked you right after the judges wiped out most of your gang... you could have called the judges yourself... annoymously of course.

If you can wipe off the blood, I'd love to see the latest battle reports.
