Under no circumstances are you to eat any of my fleet, even if I do get hammered. :D

Good lord no, you'd still be far too fresh.

We usually wait a couple of weeks for the buffet to...mature.

Triggy's Beam System is
1 -2 Miss
3 - 4 1 Hit
5 - 6 1 hit and roll again.
That answers part 1. What about part 2 - what is the Walsall Lads' Victory Points system? ;)

I tell ya, these playtesters will do anything to avoid taking me on...

It's a shame you'll have to take your whupping another time Steve :D However, between the Kettering, Aldershot and Walsall groups, it shouldn't be too long before another opportunity rolls around (April, in fact).

Right Shane, looks like you're first on my hit-list then!

I imagine it's the one used for this tournament. Quite similar to the original Mongoose tournament points.
For the benefit of those who don't want to have to search the old thread and download the PDF:

Game Result : Victor / Vanquished
Draw : 10 / 10
Win by less than 10 VPs : 13 / 7
Win by 10 or more VPs : 17 / 3
Win by 25 or more VPs : 20 / 0

There's also an award of 2 points for being in a Great game, 1 point for a Good game, 0 points for a Poor game, as rated by the other player. This is the Gentleman's Award, intended to encourage you to play nicely. :)

That's what I got from the "Warlords of Walsall" tournament pack, anyway. I'm still waiting for Da Boss to finish his lunch so he can post the definitive scoring system for this tournament.

Sorry, its not been a good month at work which has impacted on other things - I will see what I can do for either this lunchtime or tonight.......

OK this is what I am looking at: (let me know if anyone has a problem with this?) :)

firstly in each game establish the winner using Victory Points:

Destroyed ships

Scenario 1
Patrol (or “twofer”) ship – 5 pts, Skirmish = 10pts, Raid = 20pts, Battle = 30pts

Scenario 2
Patrol (or “twofer”) ship – 3 pts, Skirmish = 5pts, Raid = 10pts, Battle = 20pts, War = 30pts
+10 VP for highest PL ship within 6” of target ship at end of the battle, if both same non VP

Scenario 3
Patrol (or “twofer”) ship – 2 pts, Skirmish = 3pts, Raid = 5pts, Battle = 10pts, War = 20pts
+10 VP for Assassination target destroyed or survives

Scenario 4
Patrol (or “twofer”) ship – 1 pt, Skirmish = 2pts, Raid = 3pts, Battle = 5pts, War = 10pts, Armageddon: 20pts

General

If a ship is not destroyed but is Crippled and/or Skeleton Crewed gain ¼ VP

If a ship retreats from the board - 1/4 VP

If a ship surrenders/captured = Double VP

Holding Ground: If you have one ship left but opponent does not gain 5VP

Bought Fighters = VP equal to the PL of a wing worth of flights destroyed (not carried fighters).

Tournament Points
At the end of each game each player works out points (from table below)

Game result.....................Victor....................Vanquished
Draw.................................10............................. 10
Win by less than 10 VP’s......13............................. 7
Win by 10 or more VP’s........17.............................3
Win by 25 or more VP’s........20.............................0
or opponent concedes

assigns a sportsmanship score (0 –2) to their opponent.

deducts the number of ships they lost from that which they destroyed (this figure can generate a negative value)

eg - you destroyed 3 ships and lost 5 - you will score -2, if you had destroyed 5 ships and lost 3 you generate +2.

All these scores are then totalled to give the Tournament Points for each player for each game.

In the case of an overall tie for either 1st, 2nd and 3rd it will be decided on ships lost/destroyed, then ships destroyed, then sportsmanship – then how nice people are to me.

No VP's for an enemy ship making a tactical withdrawal?

Most of the other VP's are straight out of the book except for the bonus for Assassination - double VP's instead of a flat +10 VP for destroying the target and no bonus for keeping your ship which is the other player's target alive and on the table.
