Work is calming down somewhat - would anyone be up for a ACTA (2nd Ed) Tournament in the Spring?

location would be here:

www.boughtonhouse.org.uk

Format similar to previous incarnations - theme likely.

Anyone fancy trying to defeat Ken? Are you good enough

let me know here or by email/pm 8)

You guys seriously play there? It makes me wonder if I can convince the wife that a trip across the Atlantic is in order...

Well I work there and I can get us a venue for a tournament in the Stableblock - its not our normal venue for causual games.

To be fair we have had international visitors - the last Aldershot tournament had a gentleman from the Colonies :) and a couple of players from Germany came to the last Boughton Tourney- although one was horribly unlucky in first two round opponents..............

glad to see you if you are popping across!

count me in feller, would be good to see everyone again.. well mostly everyone

now, do i go for a fun fleet as usual, or a cheese fleet to get a different winner for a change ;-)

If the format is similar to this year's, do both. ;)

Without an actual date I can't be certain if I can make it, but I'm certainly interested. Given the chance, I'll probably bring a mixture of fleets again.

Suggestion: allow players two choices of fleet. First choice fleets to be used by default, but if both players agree, use of the second choice fleet by (at least) one player might make the game more interesting if the first choices make the result a foregone conclusion.

Sounds great - I have next to none experience in the game... (played it three times so far since I have acquired it this year) but would love to be there... :)

Count me in.

I could not really find an address on the webpage to figure out where the location is... Kettering Northamptonshire is it, isn't it?

Cheers!

Excellent :)

The website is scheduled for an update in the near future so its not as slick as it could be

visiting information can be found here:

actually a reasonable idea, as the shadow scout fleet favoured by Greg will of course make mincemeat out of any poor soul choosing a Drazi fleet, and probably whitestar fleet, conversely an emine fleet may well muller gregs and so on. any mechanic that allows the potential to remove an instant rock beats paper match is plausible.
Instead of a straight second fleet every player could get a joker, so one change of fleet permitted throughout the day?

How about let people choose their fleets. Then at random times they swap with their opponent. Or if some brings a cheesy fleet they lose the fleet and get to play Raiders lol.

Now there's an idea a Raider vs Raider tourney (proxies allowed of course). Then every one has the same chances of winning as we will all be fielding from the same fleet lists moreor less.

Tourney Idea - Who will be the Pirate King of the Raiders. Then we could have a Pirate theme as well.

yarr me hearty.... I have no models for raiders, can I use my pirates ships? 3 master in space... bootiful..
