After trying for a year to get ACTA to be played, a friend and I are pretty much on the verge of giving up and auctioning off what we own, or waiting to second editon. How far off is this fabled new ediiton, and will it bring everythign together into one base product that exists now?
Trying to sort out the vast confusion of differents lists (box list, SFOS list, tourney list, Armageedon list, changed ship description just asfter Armageddosn release)..Its a bit..ridiculous. From the reviews, I'm reluctant to even buy and read Armageddon because the only positive universal comment I"ve read is 'they fixed stealth'.
There are still a few other issues that make me iffy on the game--the entire concept of jump point bombs, fleet 9im)balance, the lack of a real points system (I hate this priority list system with a burning fashion. Why not have points and a way to buy crew upgrades, and buy the camapign upgrades as well?) But right nowe, the expected date of second ediiton is sort of going to be a major factor of deciding if we should continue trying to play.
I really want to be a fan of this game, after my love of the show, but its got to be earned..and its not happened yet.
