Its not much of a gauntlet, as the ISA have their own better solution already on board -- the complimentary Nial fighter of doom.
Any braid mechanism will either have to loop on itself (and therefore be restricted by the length of the firing arc or will have such an exposed tai (a chain):

You have a valid chain above. However, with the Raid level available to you, you also have more fireable systems to commit vs. flights (and the extra 2" of range is very important, too. Drakh have to give up their primary fire to take a shot at these fighters. The ISA, even in a 2-braid (what I was talking about in the prooflike section before), have 15" of range with a worthwhile weapon. Chains spend potential firepower for positional defense. Raiders cannot justify their value this way -- they are light on firepower as it is.
