    I don't think number 2 is correct AdrianH. The scout doesn't nominate a weapon type, each ship just can only use it on one weapon, at least I think so. Have to find my rules again as I haven't looked up the specific wording lately.

    Yes, but nukes seemed to be fairly common and relatively safe weapons when references. At least no more dangerous than standard weapons. Jump point bombs were considered suicide and 'crazy' to even try. I think that is where the topic gains the heat.

    Da Boss covered the majority of the effect here Joe, but... One of the important bits that is missing here is the 'if you know who your up against...' then there are at least theoretical counters. But what if you don't know? Rules like this significantly cramp tourney or random pick up play...

    Just don't understand folks not using squadrons early in the game. Single biggest advantage available to most races (boresight dependent not so much). Yes you lose some sinks for a turn or two... but you almost always remove an enemy ship for before it can fire at all.

    Not a good test of the Hunting Pack if the ships all start with the same range, the major advantage is completely missed. Still, haven't had a chance to try it myself so shouldn't complain too much.

    Good to hear I thought I would get one from attending the GenCon event last year... but it got delayed so much I doubt anyone remembers. Not being a freebie I wanted to hear some good stuff before I dropped cash on something a lot of folks have dropped due to rumors of imminent demise.

    Went and re-read it before commenting. On the fighter thing... I hate that it's being said that there was no other choice. Other choices were presented, the closest one to the current rule was that you add up all dead fighters at the end of a game and count flights up to the number of wings...

    Ah! So the Vorlons can have a carrier if we don't have a main gun, as we'll get less other vorlons... yes, now the logic is clear! I do like how you said we can take a carrier (singular) but that it means less Vorchans. One less! One! Hardly a death knell for the super death squadron...
