WHATS HAPPENING TO MY GAME????

Will it still be around $39.95 as was originally planned durring the poll ( http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15753 ) or will the prepaint process raise the price a little?

We haven't set the prices for the larger units yet, but we are looking at $39.95 - $49.95 for the Super Cobra and Future Lynx in BF Evo. It would be difficult to see the flying units in SST Evo exceeding this, unless we do something very special. . .

If we find a flying unit is likely to be exceptionally popular, or that players are likely to want 3-4 in an army rather than just 1 (the Skyhook comes to mind, as it counts as a Transport, rather than an Air Unit) then we will make efforts to ensure the price remains reasonable.

Wow! You must live in a very different universe than the rest of us... I haven't seen any "Heman... Mind Police" stuff here.

All I've seen is MSprange not wanting to say anything before all things are really going fine and all deals are done. Then he can say what's up with SST.
Mongoose just got BF:evo rolling. It will take a bit more time to get SST back up again. Í bet very soon we will get our first glimpse of the real SST rules.

Actually, no one pinned anyone down. If you had simply asked the question normally, he would have answered. If you notice in plenty of other threads, Matt provides many juicy answers to simple questions with out any added on rants.

Anyway, Matt has already stated that we have seen the real SST Evolution rules, they are the BFE core rules. Those core rules are the exact same rules used for SST, and probably many of the advanced BFE rules will be the same too.

The difference will be in the new unit stats, since that's what will determine the feel of the game and armies.

The main rules will really not change much, but the stats on the cards will carry the special rules and such.

Well, not one system to rule them all. The evolution rules are heavily abstracted for fast gameplay. That's not a complaint, it's just that it works for the kind of games Mongoose makes. There's other miniature games and settings that won't quite work with the evolution rules without a lot of special abilities and advanced rules. But, I guess that could be a strength of the evo system too.

While some of the people arguring with you may have been out of line, you've been just as bad yourself - especially spreading unsubstianted rumours as gospel truth (the scale change)

And the customer is never right.

I think theres arguaments both ends of this to be honest.
Its all very well saying all you had to do is ask (And in general its true Mongoose is an incredibly open company), but in all honesty, how much news, or even posts from players has this forum gotten in the six months prior to all this arguing and nastiness (from both sides of the fence...)?

The view that asking any questions at all is some kind of malicious dissent is just as absurd as the view that Mongoose is activly out to screw the customers. As a new poster said before the thread was deleted, it comes down to two camps (Taken to the extremes):

1) Those who would be perfectly happy if mongoose decided the the arachnids weren't bugs but nano organic invaders from the Nth dimension battling the genetically modified Monkey warriors of the earth federation.

and
2) Those who feel that any changing of the wording, miniatures or rules will drastically throw the game into new and unheard of vistas which are strange and disturbing to their fragile little minds.

People acting as if its only the opposing side that are acting like complete wieners need to take a reality check

Nah, you take the credit dude, its the most sense heard on this forum for a looooooong time, and I think it speaks volumes that its not from a regular here
Nothing till Gencon Matts hinted, so thats nothing till August...

We will however be getting the Wave1 releases stats printed in S&P (Mongooses online magazine) at the begining of next month, so I can finally have an excuse to wheel out my proxy LAMI army for a trial run of the new rules

Well its better to make a splash I suppose, I was quite supprised they didn't announce Evo the first time round at Gencon.
Hopefully they've given themselves plenty of leeway to meet the deadline.

I am a bit peeved though, the Mutant Chronicles CMG is out around the same time, and I really wanna get into that too. Although Im less than keen on it being 36mm Im planing on just getting some dark legion beasties anyway and those can never be big enough

Tannhausers out in english around then too, so much prepainted stuff...
And Marvel Heroscape... which I don't really wanna buy but I do kinda want... even though I know it'll be completly rubbish...

I like this figures...I kinda want to get the medival and ancient ones.. you know, the Viking warriors and Romans from the Heroscapes game... they make great RPG miniatures.

I think its handled quite well by Hasbro as well as a property, when it first came out I kninda expected them just to leave it high and dry, but theres loads of add ons for it now!

I think they're just trying to tie in a bit more fluff than the whole battles through time aspect. (Although I actually thought that was one of the coolest things about it )
