WHATS HAPPENING TO MY GAME????

Turtle, Thanks for the info. The new rules sound pretty interesting. As primarily a Bug Player, I like the sound of 1 Reaction a turn. My poor boys are going to be happy about that.

Yeah, also note that you can react to being shot at. Which means the whole unfairness where the MI get so much more shooty when you get closer (which is odd since the Bugs want to get closer), and at range all you can do is stand and get shot.

There's just a lot more movement in the game with these two simple rules changes.

Also, I suspect the paint jobs for SST will be quite a bit better than BFE, simply because SST is science fiction, they can look good with simpler paint schemes and the use of washes. This is exactly why AT-43 minis look so good, if you look a their paint schemes, all they have is a few base colors and a wash, whereas BFE minis have many different colors, eyes, and camouflage.

and Max, did'nt you used to have a fish or something as an icon?

Indeed he did. Multi coloured I think.

I guess it hinges on what this big announcement Matt's making in the next couple of days, but considering the last one amounted to 'We're pulling all support for the game for the forseeable future' Im trying not to get my hopes up...

Well, look at it this way. If that was the last announcement then, logically, what will the next be?

Like has been said...logically the next step is to can SST totally.

In a few short months, I promise, your opinion will change. We haven;t done these things for the fun of it, or because we were bored - we genuinely want to make SST the best game it possibly can be. To achieve that, we had to take the steps we have.

In short, if you liked SST before, you ain't seen nothin' yet. . .

Matt, I so want to believe. But every time It never goes right. I know you want the best, I know you guys do it because you love the game. But it just seems like nothing ever works. I'll stick around and hope for the best. I just don't see a lot of future in the pre-paints and sculpts.

TURTLE, you are a wealth of information my friend!

Thanks A bunch.

Where is Fountain Valley, CA Anyway???

As for the pre-paints, I've always done it the "Burger King Way" LOL so even when the pre-paints come out as long as the detail is'nt jeapordized, those bastards are going to see some XACTO and PAINT action befrore they hit the battlefield FOR SURE! However, if the sculpts suck ass, I'll be Making A LOT of Scratch models. Either way, I WIN! WOOT WOOT!!!!!!

Well, to sum it up quickly, the fanbase has lost most of it's interest and gone onto other games. After seeing some of the examples of the BFE stuff I lost my faith in mongoose, as many of the promises about the quality of the prepaints are clearly untrue.

Ditto. WE saw pre-release Minis for BF: EVO. We had a dozen people who were going to preorder totally lose interest.

I have no hope for SST Evo and sure won't be buying the prepainted rubbish unless there is a huge jump in quality :!:

Currently, The Breville company are considering trying to buy out SST from MGP and hit a deal with SONY so that they can start the production of Breville SST miniature makers.

Just insert the correct mould and insert the special Breville company plastic mix and voila!

(Available in all Tescos and Sainsburys stores, Not available int he USA or Waitrose, because its so damn posh).

Is this true?

Chill guys... patience is a virtue - all of my stuff is now 'on ice' pending the new rules and my repaint to 19th Century British colours... shamelesssly knicked from this forum...

Then again all games have problems get used to it - hell I saw AT-43's prepaints and nearly vomited - I love the models, not teh prepaints, I am considering buying BF:Evo in the next 6 months as it seems solid.

And barely a week goes by that I do not think about shiny large armies of LAMI charging from transports...

Await and thou shall be rewarded.

Well bugger me sideways! I went away for a while with the expectation that by now SST Evo would be ready for imminent release with preview pics and so on and lo and behold it has been put to 'sleep'...such a shame :(

My army is gathering dust, I wasn't able to find a game before and there's no chance now. I think it may be time to sell out and cut my losses.

Thanks for trying Mongoose

Phil

Or you could wait a month or less to see some news as to SST Evo. Or slightly longer until the release of SSTE.

Then, you shouldn't have as much trouble finding a game, or at least shouldn't have as much trouble getting people into the game.

Even if you find you don't like the changes, your figures will be much more valuable since they're valid for a miniature game that's still in release. They would sell for more.

That's the mindset I have for my SST armies. If I don't like the changes I'll just sell my armies, and since my armies will still be officially legal, they'd be worth more to sell. However, after playing BFE, it's likely I'll enjoy SST.

wont they be worse cause the pre-paints will be 95% better than any wargamer could paint :D

Since its been delayed you could argue its turned over, hit the snooze button on the alarm, and gone back to sleep :D
If it wasnt coming it would be dead not sleeping.

Turtles kinda right about waiting to sell, they go for naff all on Ebay right now! That said you're going to have alot of competition what with shops dumping unsold stock as the date gets nearer...

Piccie rudely stolen from Mr Evil since he hasnt bothered posting this in here...

That picture is from the Mongoose Open Day from last sunday.

See anything you Might recognice in the bottom shelf there? Anyone?

That there is a genuine Skyhook and quite possible a Slingshot below that...

So anyone crying how SST is dead and buried... how about looking for yourself... I dont think Mongoose would bother making (I assume that is yet the painting prototype instead of the final product from the manufacturer but the model is right there!) the model all nice and ready if they were planning to can it, correct?

I know that in SST as in BF:Evo you often win with a correct use of your reactions... The same goes in real life, too, boys and girls...

So quit reacting in panic to peoples assumptions and frustrations... base your actions And reactions to what is REALLY there... And what Mongoose is Really trying to say here... for crying out loud...
