What Have You Painted Today??

Thanks for the kind words guys.. good to be painting again. And i really was pleasantly surprised to see how B5 had held on with FSA and star trek now taking over..
@ Hugh: from what i've seen in one of the last few pages, i think it's gonna be another hot one.. LOL

@ Adrian: now i wouldn't exactly call it a sacrifice
no prize for guessing which variant this one is.. :P

Hey Charles, worked on anything new since Dilgar War? Or any trek scenario yet? Better luck against Greg next time and show him the fury of the orange fleet..

Under new management: some recently bought small scale Vorlon Transports join my older, large scale model. Normally the big one will play as a Destroyer, the two orange/red small ships play as Frigates and the two small yellow/grey ones play as Transports. However, I've numbered the small ships I - IV rather than two pairs of I-II to keep my options open - for a small game the big one can be a Frigate and the small ones all Transports, or for a large game the big ship sits out, all four small ones play as Destroyers and I get to put my Micro Machines cruiser on the table. :)

For some reason the camera has turned all the grey lighter than it should be - the grey should be significantly darker than the yellow! It's also made the blue look almost luminous.

Transport I carries the marking of Kosh's transport. Transport II carries the markings of the ship which brought Jack to B5 in "Comes The Inquisitor" - the markings have two blue characters instead of the normal one red. Frigate III is an attempt to make something similar to the marking on Kosh II's ship, though the only reference I have is a video rather than a DVD so the character is not clearly visible. Frigate IV has some random character from the Vorlon alphabet, so I have no idea who is in it. :)

cool vorlon ships, i have some from both scales and posted some painted full scale vorlon ships at my blog. i have one vorlon micro machine heavy cruiser, one micro machine minbari cruiser, and one warner bros vorlon heavy cruiser, that's bigger than the micro machine heavy cruiser, all on my blog.

The Vorlon ships look great. I like how you did the inside of the ships. The light blue with the dark blue dots really looks like how they were on the show.

I played a 3pt raid game with the Narns vs the Vorlons with my brother. The Vorlons kicked the snot out of the Narn ships.
I believe it was:
2x transports 1 raid pt
2X Frigate raid ship
Narn
1x Dag Kar
1x Thentus
1x Rothan
2x Ka' Tok

I took out one transport with a lucky beam roll. The Vorlon was at full, and I kept rolling 4's. I rolled a good crit, and took it out. I started out really good with that then it just went downhill from there. By the time the game was done he took out all the ships I was using. Healing really helps there ships.

I really like to play the game, but my brother not so much.

Very nice job on the Sharoos! Smooth fades between the colors, and just the right amount of tiger stripes. Love it!

I also like those Vorlons, Adrian. Were they done with the "toothbrush spatter" method?

The yellow and grey were. The orange/red ships were painted orange, then dotted with a fine red marker pen. The blue on the large ship was also done by toothbrush, but I can't say how it was done on the small ones because being second hand, they were already painted when I got them. I repainted the hull and outer vane surfaces to make them fit better with the large ship (plus I wanted two of them red), but I was happy with the blue the way it was and left it alone.

Hey missed this first time round !

Still plodding away at Darkness Rising III - Endgame - got a bit big!
Kitbashed the Lions Lair - WIP and a few other bits and pieces in the works :)

good to see you posting :)

Good paintwork, though the photos are a little out of focus - does your camera have a close-up or macro setting?

Were the waves already moulded onto the bases or did you make them yourself?
