What did the Minbari ever do to mongoose?

Why is the station for the "beam weapon race" one of the only 2 stations in the whole game WITHOUT a beam? for the same cost I can have 2 sharlins with which i could kill ANYTHING in 1 round. having just done 71 dmg with a single beam attack this week in my campaign.

It is a bit sad that Minbari only get a 2AD beam at Raid, whilst even the Early EA have a 2AD beam option at patrol...
As nice as Fusion Cannons are, they do lack the punch of a big gun. Vs hull 6 targets, Minbari really suffer below Battle PL (aside from using Tigaras and Torothas... but if you get ships that fragile close enough to use them, you're in for a world of hurt).
