Weapon Damage question for 3d6-3 with burst 4

Folks:
I have a player who wants to have a pistol that will do burst damage. I have worked out something like 3d6-3, Burst 4; however, would that do 3d6+1 when in burst mode?

In addition, I know this player and they will soon want a SMG. Follwing burst and auto rules on page 62 of Core Rule Book, if the weapon had Auto 4, would that be 4d6, and drop the "-3"?

The CSC book has automatic fire pistols.

Burst damage is +the auto fire rating, so a 3d6 weapon with Auto 4 will do 3d6+4 in burst mode. A 3d6-3 weapon with Auto 4 will do 3d6+1 damage in burst mode

Auto fire allows making Auto/2 attacks at the normal weapon damage

Does that mean Auto Fire in the CSC book change the Auto Fire rules form the Core Rule book? In the Core Rule book - it says to roll the Auto fire number as extra dice and pair them up for each attack.

Those two are the same thing just stated differently. So, nope, no changes!

Thanks so much - looks like I have to get a copy of CSC. In addition, it appears the book has a great deal of extra goodies that I would like from what I have seen from the free .pdf
