WAVE 1 SST Previews up in S&P

yup. it's cool, the sketch for the new models look stunning(especially the at-at..erm, berekose  ),the idea of a online campaign is kool too..but for god's sake, fix the exos card,or you'll make a grown man cry

still-good job 8)

Yeah seriously.

And wow, Grizzlys lost the choice of 3 different guns and holding a third gun? Ouch, the grizzlys got nerfed.

Then again, with the cougers are likely to pick up on that.

SST was bound to lose a lot of customizeability with a move to a prepainted unit box/get on the table kind of game like Heroscape.

Not sure I like the tunnel rules. They were right when they said it loses a lot of setting flavor. However, the preview mentions how the advanced rulebook will also contain tunneling rules. This makes me think they saved the full, classic, tunneling rules for the advanced rulebook, just in time to help deal with MI air units.

anyone seriously used mixed weapons on grizzlies?
or the lance?
well, every day brings new suprisez

The forth are interesting though. They're even more one many army than even the Exos were, especially now with the changes to the exos.

Their weaponry is nasty, thankfully a lot of the nasty stuff is once per turn.

Unlimited reactions with the point defense gun was clearly a battlefield adaptation to the Arachnids threat. :P

This makes me curious to see how the rest of the older units will be, and how they're going to fill in gaps left by unit changes, namely in the Grizzlys. Hopefully they'll show PAMI and Pathfinders soon. Not sold on the game yet, but neither was I with the first units released for BFE. I'll have to wait and see how these armies fill out.

At last! But....

I hope the old tunnelling rules are in the advanced rulebook...

No stream weapons?!

A sharper rez so it prints better would be good too.

Cheers
Mark

Just so everyone knows...

The Exosuits have the LAMI card for their back page. This is an error. They actually have their normal weaponry listed on the first page (though they do have more special rules, which I'll let matt post if he wants you to see them).

Wow, Im gonna have to spend a lil time trying to read all those cards, some of them are a little to crowded for me :D (I still kinda think using traits would save alot of space, all that'd be needed would be an extra side on the mini rule sheet describing what they do)
That tunneling rule seems a bit naff (Didnt like it in warhammer either...), but like turtle says hopefully thats just a make do rule till the main books out.

Only had a quick glance but my favourite bit was the skinny leader sketch, if they stick with that theme for the skinny they might finally be a viable race :D
And the forth along side the warriors pic' was quite iluminating too, I always assumed they were a bit bigger somehow, probably because Im still thinking of them as Zentradi...

Be patient....

As I see it now I have to say the lack of traits is REALLY nasty.
Why list the weapons stats at top of the card if you have to read this fuzzy text anyway?

Either give them traits, or place the stats where they belong - in the headline of the text.
Two times half information spread over the whole card doesn't make any sense.

Ya, thanks for the preview but I can't even read the cards to use them in a game.

Any chance we can get some higher rez ones... maybe with corrections on the Grizzlies? :D

I can read all the cards and for the most part things look ok. I don't quite get the Swarm and Horde rules yet on the Warrior bugs. I guess I will have to try them to find out. Just off the top it does not seem like Horde would let you stretch a line of warriors across the board like the old rules could. Again I will have to try them.

The Exo mistake is nigh unforgivable though. Someone should be slapped with a herring or something!!

Well apparantly the Evo cards are huge, so maybe things don't look so cramped on them....
But to be perfectly honest I kinda think it makes alot more sense to have traits on the cards and a trait discription listed on a page of the mini rule book... At the very least we'd be able to read the preview cards easier :D

If noone beats me to it (But I really wont mind if someone does lol) I'll try squinting at them on a bigger monitor and get the rules off the cards to post here.
