Wally Squad!

Banded Mongoose
Hey! I've just downloaded S&P and seen that my rules for Wally Squad judges have been published - a little more anonymously than I'd expected - but I'm properly chuffed. I'd be pleased to hear what people think of them.

What with the rules pdf now being available and the Rebellion purchase news, the future's looking pleasingly Dreddy.

Yay!

Congratulations! And thanks for the heads up about S&P - I'd got out of the habit of checking it, as I'm only really interested inthe GOMC-1 content, and there hasn't been any for ages :-)

Looking forward to reading this one!

Cheers,

Steve

Ta very much! I think they're a pleasing, but risky, way to screw over tough gangs...

I've just submitted a Bite-Fighter specialist to S&P, so we'll see. I've also got rules for Boing TM (done as equipment rather than a specialisation), a couple of Challenges (Pit Fght, Ambush, Mutant Animal Attack and a two-part Kidnap crime, in the manner of Bank Raid..), another specialist (Pet Enthusiast - which allows you to 'train' Mutant Animals captured in the Attack scenario) and plenty other bits and bobs. Oh - and other Justice Dept resources - holding posts, Weather Control and Electro-Cordons. Battlefield Evo - Modern Combat has got my mind straying towards other ideas, too..

Rules for Spears and for running Xemomorph / Alien / Incubi gangs are elsewhere on the forum.. though I think you've seen (and contributed to) them:

Thanks again for the enthusiastic response.

If your rules get rejected by S&P, I'd still like to see them all, but especially the rules for Boing! :-)

Do they let you know how long it will be before they make a decision or how long it will be before publication?

Steve

Not sure - new editor and a big redesign for next month.. plus they're getting a lot of biggish (and nicely done) rpg scenarios.. so I'll just wait with fingers crossed.

What really great rules, an inspired way to get too strong players paranoid. Only reservation is the cost - think it should be more like 15+, the impact on the gang is pretty severe afterall.

Thanks btom!

I agree - the impact is potentially high - and 15 pts was my original costing - but after consultation I realised that lacking the offensive power of a Lawgiver is actually a major loss.. and there's also the fact that by using a Wally, you automatically gift your opponent 3 lots of Resist Arrest... which makes the gang decidedly harder to infiltrate later..

Having used the rules a few times, we've had some brilliant disasters.. twice due to 'outing' the Wally near enough to be immediatley effective.. then fluffing rolls and being shot to pieces. It's good fun!

I look forward to hearing how they play in your games... and if the costing still seem wonky, it's easily adjusted.

Thanks again,

Neil

Another S&P and another GoMC article by ned-kogar! Good job again with the stats.

So, no pressure, but have you considered writing rules for Boing?

You know it makes sense.
