Vassal campaign

Anyone interested in playing a campaign through the Vassal engine? If so, please post here or PM me. I'd like to play perhaps twice a week (US pacific night time if possible) I am willing to take care of all the book keeping (except for keeping track of damage on ships, honor system here, way too messy).

would love to, but my earliest start time most nights would be 8pm Pacific time, and thats mon, wed, and thurs; I don't get home until 11pm the other 4 nights.

Got 6 people willing to give it a try so I won't take any more comers until I've seen how its working out. Will keep a record and see how it goes.

What went wrong? I'd like to know so it can be mitigated or avoided if possible.

Basically, I and another player (not naming names but we all know who it was) fell out about general attitudes in the game we played and it got out of hand. I was largely to blame, truth to tell, but it's done now. Good luck.

Well, I also think that people were trying to complicate things too much with 'allied fleet' rules, and custom battles, and all that crap. With this campaign, we should just go rules as written, no modifications.

Well, we'll start small, 10 point battle fleet (not war level like the book suggests). This should keep the fights smaller and quicker. No allied fleets. Random scenarios from the book. I will trust everyone to roll for refits and special duties, crew qualities, etc. Please be honest, I know a crew quality of 2 sucks, but hey, it adds to the flavor of the game.

Edit:
Ignore this section. I thought the book allowed for Armageddon battles.
Only special rule I'm thinking of is lowering the random battle level, because of the smaller starting fleets, so no Armageddon size fights and fewer war level ones, as it would take your whole fleet. I'll rework that table and let you guys know.

So then, no special rules.
No allies allowed and honesty will be required from the participants, no matter how sucky your games are going.

Our previous Vassal campaign was going really well and would have succeeded in principle if it weren't for some infighting. As pointed out, this was largely due to disagreements over how allies should happen and their fairness so I'd just not allow allies (between separate players) during the campaign.

Hope it goes well, I won't be joining as it's not so convenient for us Europeans with the times you're proposing.

I forgot, please add the crew quality for each ship. If you could, roll for it and put it next to each ship please. Oh, and how many fighters you should start with as well.

For example:
Ship class crew quality points (battle) name (optional)
Sharlin, 4 2 Victory
Sharlin, 3 2 Indefatigable
.
.
.
.

Fighters
8 nial
2 flier

Name is optional, I like naming my ships. I get more attached that way so I can cry when they bit the dust.

Thanks

An european VASSAL campaign would be tempting, though...
Indeed!

Keeping things organised separately for each side of the Atlantic is probably sensible for a campaign. I'd be game for this.

Didn´t this come up after the finals of the VASSAL tourney? Someone wanted to organize a VASSAL campaign (Romu, I think?), but I´ve never heard of it again...

One of the players backed out. We need 1 (one) more player. If you are interested and can play on California time, let me know.

So far we have:
Drazi
Minbari
EA
EA
Braikiri

Why do we need one more player? A campaign doesn't need an even number of players to work, and smaller groups mean a more consistant, more compact campaign.
