Vassal campaign

Turn 10 Update:

With the reported withdraw of the Earth Alliance from the Sago system due to heavy losses, the Drazi Freehold had claimed the abandon target Sago 5 Gas Giant for the Shaduk.

To thorougher enforce the Drazi claims in the Sago system, a Fireraptor class Battleship, Christian the Tora, was dispatched by escorting the returning repaired warships to Barakar's fleet.

5 War point Call to Arms Minbari vs Vorlons.

Vorlons came with
2 Light cruisers,
4 Destroyers,
Many Transports
8 Fighters.

Minbari:
1 Sharoos
1 Neshatan
1 Morshin
2 Tinashis
2 Teshalns
2 Leshats
4 Torothas

Most of the ships on both sides were squadroned up. Vorlons won first turn initiative, luckily, the first squadron (2 light cruisers and 2 destroyers) all failed their stealth checks. As luck would have it, the Sharoos and Neshatan did not fail their beam rolls, scoring +20 hits each on 2 other destroyers (that hadn't fired yet) The destroyers were finished off by other ships later in the turn.

Next turn saw the Minbari win initiative. The Sharoos and Neshata managed to knock out the weapons off a Light cruiser and one of the 2 remaining destroyers retaliation was harsh, the Neshatan lost about 1/2 its damage points and suffered many criticals, mostly to the engines though (lucky). A few more transports died, one of the Torothas was decrewed.

By turn 3 the battle was looking bleak for the Vorlons. One of the Light cruisers was destroyed, the other couldn't fire due to weapon's critical. They did manage to destroy the Neshatan and decrew the Morshin. The Minbari used every ship in the fleet (except for 1 Torotha that was hunting the Admiral's ship) to try and kill the last Light Cruiser, but couldn't.

Next turn saw the Vorlons win initiative. They managed to scratch the Sharoos (about 1/2 damage) but not cause any criticals. The Sharoos responded by destroying the last light cruiser and a couple of transports that were left. Unfortunately, one of the stricken ships drifted towards the Morshin (that was drifting too) and exploded, destroying it.

The Minbari took pity on their former protectors and let the 2 remaining destroyers and the admiral's transport escape. (it was too late, 3:30 am for Dennis, 130 for me, time for bed).

Fun battle, Dennis played a good game, had bad luck with his stealth rolls, on the other hand I had good luck with my initial beam shots (not the following ones though) and managed to cripple the meat of his fleet early on.

So...... great victory for the Minbari, the Vorlons lost most of their fleet, Minbari lost a Torotha (recoverable, no crew), Morshin and the Neshatan.

For anyone interested, Humbaba and I are going to play a 7pt war CTA game sunday at 10am PST. This is probably one of the more decisive battles of the campaign, so if you're interested, come on in.
