We played the Bismarck scenario a few times over the weekend. Great fun. Each game turned out a bit differently so I'd say it's fairly balanced. Considering how few ships are involved there are still a lot of tactical choices and we tried everything from line of battle duels to charging torpedo attacks.
One question came up, how do you handle torpedo mounts when a ship gets crippled? We played that you roll for them like turrets but were not sure.
Also, is there really no modifier for point-blank fire?
We also played the same scenario using the 'Battle Station!" rules. VaS was MUCH better. We abandoned the BS! game after only a few turns as it was just boring. BS! does not fit smaller games at all whereas VaS seems great for fleets from 1 up to maybe 20 or so on a side. I'd say BS! is good when you have 25-50 on a side.
