V-22 Osprey in BFEVO, will we still get one for USMC?

It's been a while since anyone's mentioned an Osprey for the USMC faction in BFE. Are we still going to get such a model or are there no plans for any airborne transport for marines?

interesting.

i have a modle ready for construction, but as of yet no rules for it so i havnt posted pics for it.

im sure were get official or unofficial rules at some point.

would love MGP to produce cards for units they never intend to produce to allow some modling fun and games.

Mongoose has done stats for it, at the start, but it was dropped, not sure why, maybe the size...

If you wish i can go though my playtesters rulebook for you all....

Yup. IIRC Matt said it would have to be a special edition/limited run mini only because it would be massive on the table.

Well either way we need an air transport for marines of some sort. If not the Osprey then give us either Blackhawks or the new Huey variant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UH-1Y_Venom that the USMC is currently using.

I'd buy a marine army just to use an Osprey if they did a model.

Twice over if they release the marines in that kickass woodland camo

Couldn't they make fighters with detachable wings, there are loads of different ways you could make them click into place that would make them nice and robust, it would also make them much easier to box and transport. I believe they are doing something similar with helicopters top rotars.

Sorry i did not get back to you, busy with my office work, i have found the file..!!
I thought i lost it, and was going to be in big trouble...

So copy and paste, i hope this does not come out a mess

USMC V-22 Osprey 600 points
V-22 w/MG

Size Move Close Combat Target Armour Kill
7 V/STOL
Loiter
Cruise 7xD10 6+ 5+ 8+

MG
Range: 20” Damage: 3xD6

Unit Type: Transport

Special Rules
MG: This weapon causes a –1 penalty to Armour rolls. It may only be used when the V-22 is using V/STOL or Loiter flight speeds.

Air Unit: The V-22 is an Air Unit and uses the rules provided in the Battlefield Evolution rulebook. It will ignore the first five failed Armour rolls. An attack that rolls its Kill score will destroy it as normal.

Transport: The V-22 may transport up to twenty-four Size 1 models. Rules for Air Units transporting other units can be found in the Battlefield Evolution main rulebook.

Intelligence Feeds: Any army with at least one of these units may re-roll its dice for set up and deployment.

Countermeasures: If attacked by an AA missile, roll one D6. On a 5 or more, the countermeasures successfully decoy the missile, avoiding any damage

Sorry if its a mess copy and paste from word...!!
Somebody with put it together..

Well hope it gives somebody some fun if they have a model

Sounds nasty, the ability to drop 24 infantry / specail forces / support units anywhere on the table is rather frightening... I just wonder what the point is of giving it 7D10 for close combat is thou.... Whats it going to do? try and ram other air units out of the air? Or headbutt tanks? Surely any air unit that tries to close combat anyother unit is going to render itself usless by trying to do so. Planes and helicopters are meant to take bird strikes without problems, charging down a unit of infantry with metal weapons and maybe armour is going to do them serious damage....

To the people onboard the aircraft.... Aerial deployment is the fastest way to lose a lot of points in a very short amount of time in this game.

Isn't the close combat score is for when it crashes? Anything under it takes 7D10?

Was so with SST air rules. Since these are based on them I would imagine it to be so...
