Universal Manufacturing Templates?

Are Universal Manufacturing Templates things that exist in Mongoose's Charted Space?
What are Universal Manufacturing Templates? Maybe explained what you mean by the term som we understand what you’re looking for. Just repeating you original post is not explaining anything

I was only asking the question of people who knew. If you don't know, you can't answer the question
You have an Attitude Problem. You use a group of words and expect everyone to know what you mean an$ have a fit it someone asks for clarification. So I’ll answer your question based on Geir assumption.

In the third imperium the ship systems have been standardized across the imperium thank to the control that the imperium has over the Star Ports. The Army’s equipment is also standardized across the imperium tho at different tech levels. This has the general effects of standardizing most tech on most world but not all. Some worlds purposely set up different standards so they can create a separation between the imperium and the local government.

Outside of the imperium it’s a mixed bag. Since there are a lot of imperium ships in the areas around imperial space many worlds are forced to use imperial blueprints and designs. But the further away you get from the imperium the more varied things get. In Aslan space the standards are usually clan based.

Does that answer your question.

Ten percent ship discounts are for the same design, though how that works with setting up the production line and tooling, and having standardized component, who knows?

Then there's research and development, as well as system integration, and bug hunting.

Dry runs and space trials.

So, is this a yes or a no on them existing in Mongoose's Canon?
There is no simple yes or no like much of the charted space setting it depends on where you are and the what your talking about. Are ships in the third imperium built this way yes most of them but that’s not necessarily the case elsewhere or for other things. Like everything else in Traveller there are a lot of factors including but not limited to time lag, local government and the empire you may be in. Absolutes are not a thing in Traveller.

No. Read the Traveller wiki.

Here.

Now you have as much information as I do.

Universal Manufacturing Templates can be bought. A UMT for a Free Trader costs about 100Cr. It is the complete blueprints for a Free Trader, plus the methodologies for how to build every single part of the Free Trader from a simple bolt up to the Jump Drive itself.

All of that information can be gained from reading the above link. That is how I learned about it and all I know about it. It is credited as T5, but the wiki is notoriously unreliable for Canon information.

Hence My question if they exist within Mongoose as well.. If you do not know what one is, then why respond? Wait for someone who does know to respond and learn something, like I am trying to do,

If I do not know the answer to someone's question, I do not respond. It is counter productive.

So, again, no. You did not answer My question.

As Geir said, they are not mentioned in any Mongoose published material. The wiki is pretty good about listing all sources and they only mention T5, which is the only place I've ever seen them mentioned.
Any idea where in T5? I'd love to go check out the source material, but I am lost when it comes to T5. I can never find anything. lol

That "any idea where" question is open to everyone, not just Vor. :)

I think most of the wiki article is fanon. The T5 bit is the QREBS bit

Yeah, I couldn't find any direct T5 reference to the Template part, just QREBS. I didn't do a text search on all three books, but it doesn't show up in the index of any of them and the maker sections don't mention mention it. You'll also note that the wiki doesn't give a book or page reference, just 'T5 Core Rules".
