Not to jump in (but I'm going to) but can we refocus the thread on CSC errata, fixes and minor changes! Just makes it easier for me to follow when it comes time :) Edition wars can go elsewhere

For example, I've suggested re-doing the ranges given for weapons to something more realistic. Is this, in your view, a "minor fix" or something that is a step too far? If it is the latter, then I won't waste your and my time. (I also won't be wasting my money on a book that is just a maintenance release).

Those range (and sometimes damage) inconsistences were things I ran into with the Vehicle Handbook, so for the bigger weapons, Bella, please check against that new document, not the CSC (which I also did, but at the time I carried them forward from the old one mostly verbatim). Or anyway, if they differ, use the VHB '26 numbers.
 
Improving the consistency of items that are in both CSC and the core book against one another would be good. There are a few my players have picked up as they go shopping (one using the Core book the other CSC) and they ended with gear with slightly different stats
 
There was some talk about modifying the rules for Battle Dress for Fifth Frontier War. Will these be reflected in the new Supply Catalogue?

Lasers need love.

There is no love lost, for getting rid of the dam type and armor type lookup table. That will always be ass.

But mechanically, lasers are terrible.

The trouble is I dont know how to fix them without additional mechanics.

Like giving them all Laser Sight attachment for free.

JPR's Hotshot rules, make Laser weapons have interesting choices to be stronger, and makes use of all the ammo that lasers come up.

Generally things that don't add pages (if we add pages, it has to be done in multiples of 8, and the layout team will kill be irritated with me)
 
This is my current list to work through:
  • Detailing interactions w/ psi and tech
  • Additional psionic technology
  • Delineation ship computer, starbase computer and personal computer
  • The CSC has the prices for fabricators per chamber litre but the Robot Handbook has the same prices per slot. As a chamber litre is 1.5 slots, that’s problematic and something needs to change.
  • Whether the "Intelligence Interface" built into a Wafer Jack is the same thing as the generally available Intelligent Interface on pg 69
  • Explain if and why a skilled user of an Expert package receives a lower DM than an unskilled user.
  • Explain if and what "bandwidth" does for skilled/unskilled users of Agent software packages. And clarify what does "autonomously" mean in the context of the Agent s/w.
  • possibly link bombardment and forward observers in CSC with the rules on bombardment weapons found in High Guard?
  • check cryoberth vs low berth attributes: are they meant to be same cost? Are cryoberths portable when in use? Can cryoberths be used as a replacement low berth for interstellar flights?
  • review if Expert packages are considered "old tech" now that LLMs and Generative AI is all around us.
  • Cryoberth vs Fast Drug: does it take any Medic skill to administer these, or what happens if anyone try to do it?
  • decimal points/commas for prices?
  • Misc tool sets (art, bomb disposal) – generic tool set option
  • Fabricator as a ship component (may be for hg?)
  • Ramscoop rules different in hg/ti/gr2 – probs for hg?
  • Ranges of artillery weapons need rationalisation
  • Spy shit/criminal gear
  • Thieves tools copyright circumvention software
  • Check stats against crb
  • Battle dress (need to check w/ Abby)
  • Armour stacking rules
  • Laser mechanics
Just so we're all on the same page (ha). Sent to the team for comments - some may be possible and others may not, just wanted to let you know I've read them all :)

Just reminded me of another one I saw on Reddit recently: what would happen if a group of Psions got together and worked together as a task chain? Could the Psi cost be shared or could the Psi Talent group effect be more powerful?
 
I also wouldn't mind seeing an index, at the back of the book, that listed the tech by tech level for quick reference of what should normally be available at various world tech levels.

I could go for a full on Psionics book if there is enough material to dedicate an entire book to. I think there would be enough especially if you include Psionics from other races in detail. How they feel about them, do the talents differ and if so how, ETC...
 
I agree. To note we have a psion book in the 'future books we want but are unlikely to get to for a while because there arent that many of us and we have lots of things we want/need to do first' bit on the production schedule (its actually called future books, but that doesnt aptly describe it).

That is good to hear, it is on the same "We will get to it eventually" list as the Merchant Prince replacement.
