The biggest problem I have with the existing miniatures lines is scale creep. Can you find SF miniatures for Traveller, Yes, old and new, but there scales are all over the place, from true 25mm to 30mm of the Rachkham, Star Wars and Reaper Chronoscope, all the other older scales floating around give me a headache. I just can’t bring myself to use, for example: Star Grunt figs and Shadowrun miniatures. The difference between true 25mm and 28mm is just too great. If you can great, I been thinking about looking to the expanding resin designed to enlarge prototypes, but that's a pain in the rear.
15mm Star Grunt line seems to most complete of any single line beside WOTC Star Wars, but even there new stuff is a little off scale compared to the older stuff.
I also got the AT-43 starter set... and I almost immediately sold it back when I discovered the HUGE size of the miniatures. Gosh, those are 1:48 in scale! The freaking things measure 33-35mm from head to toe. Even plastic Star Wars minis look anemic when placed side by side with one of these AT-43 soldiers.
On the other hand, that retro-future look (a la WWII in space) does not fit my idea of Traveller.
Regarding Reaper's "Chronoscope" range, the figures are almost as big as AT-43, with the inconvenience that the range is not very extensive to be useable.

GZG/Stargrunt may have minis that are better for Traveller. If I get some time, I will post a picture of a good figure from them that could be used for a Traveller marine. I have a feeling it was modeled after a Traveller marine, but I'm sure GZG will never admit it. Many of their minis seem to remind me of Traveller or 2300AD.
My thoughts exactly - for me, "true 25mm" and 15mm are THE Traveller mini scales, and both
GZG and
Denizen Miniatures capture the "feel" of Traveller admirably (uniforms, armours, weapons, spacesuits, etc.), The problem is you cannot find Traveller aliens easily, although recently
MegaMinis made some limited runs of Vargr, Droyne, K'kree and Bwap/Newts.
Besides, except for the plastic SW ranges, offer is somewhat limited in the larger 28 to 35mm ranges. And SW minis are TOO Star Wars for my taste (if you put aside those jedi/sith/clone troopers/stormtroopers there's not much left to use for Traveller).
There is a gallery with unpainted 15mm GZG here:

There are some more pics up of their 15mm and 25mm ranges at their internet e-store. What's best, if you are a wargame-oriented roleplayer, you have the same miniatures in 1:300 scale... Perfect for big Striker battles!
And Denizen Miniatures has some pics of their true 25mm range here:

Dark Star has also their version of Denizen ranges in 1:300 scale.

Whenever I think "Battle Dress", I think of the image from the old GURPS Ultratech cover...

That's too WH 40k for me. The image just screams "Space Marine". Perhaps is the blue colour...
BTW, I already provided much of the info I gave above
here. Sorry for the repetition.
