Traveller Spine Codes

Well, I have reread the whole thread, and I am guessing the earlier comment is a reference to comment #60. I still can't work out, though, whether that is saying that there are or aren't other core resources that don't have a spine code.

The Great Rift Box set has a bunch of rules stuff, notably the Deep Space Exploration Handbook. Element Class Cruisers has the Naval Campaign Sourcebook, which is like the Mercenary book for wannabe Space Hornblowers.

Pirates of Drinax and Deepnight Revelation are primarily adventures, but they have a lot of material on the regions they involve that isn't anywhere else. But I wouldn't call them rulebooks.

I don't recall anything else off the top of my head.

Thanks, Vormaerin.

Cordwainer, when you say Book 2, which Book 2 do you mean - core rules book 2, or book 2 in the boxed set (if boxed sets have books)

Book 2 of the new version of The Great Rift. There's only one core rulebook; it's the one that says Core Rulebook on the title page. (Also the cover and the spine, but those are not what determines the title of a book under normal circumstances.)

When the current vehicle handbook is replaced by the new vehicle handbook rules in December and the catalogue in January, will those be core volumes 4a and 4b (or 4 and 4a) or core volume 4 and supplement volume 4?

Isn't that how it is with the already updated books (Core Rulebook, High Guard, CSC?). I have the updated books in pdf only, but that's what is shown on the list at the start of this thread.

Since we’re just speculating at this point, I’d bet on Core (Hex) 4 for the rules and Supplement (Circle) 4 for the catalogue, since the three lists of ships are in the supplement series.

Are we at crossed purposes? Have any previous books been split into two by an update?
Yes, I missed that you were talking about the Vehicle Handbook and the Vehicle Catalogue. I thought you were talking about the updated Vehicle Handbook vs the existing Vehicle Handbook.

I would expect the two numbers to be unrelated, because the Vehicle catalogue is not a core rulebook. Endie's probably right that it'll be in the Supplement section.
