Yeah, I'd rather just pay $10 for a PDF with the two new adventures. I already have the other three and don't care if they're updated.
Edition 1, and now 1.5, and 2, and 2e revised, etc. From the consumer perspective, it can certainly get tiring having our things obsoleted, and yet iterating on a design is how it gets better (usually...)
As long as you are not fighting the urge to replace good things with better things."The best edition is the one you have"There doesn't need to be a conflict here, actually : while it's good for a system to keep iterating for future generations, it's also good not to trash a perfectly good <rpg edition/computer/car/whatever really> just because there's a new one with incremental upgrades. What we need to fight is the urge to replace good things with latest things.
How can they offer the 5 adventure volume first? Why are adventures that were originally *partially* published as separate publications, now turning up in an indivisible set of five adventures binding?
Isn't this change of binding disconcerting for early purchasers, who like me, bought into several series of separate adventures, before some of those adventures started appearing in the successor binding of the indivisible set of five adventures?
I mean, I welcome the opportunity of binding a set of five adventures into one volume, just don't you think you should have offered us that first, instead of duping us into buying a series of separate publications, only to later confront us with a single volume that is a partial duplicate of what we have already purchased? Hmmm. I now have this issue with both The Marches Adventures and the Great Rift Adventures. If this is a trend, I shall stop buying single adventure publications, and just wait and buy them as and when they turn up as a bound set.

I tried to cobble a map together as well.
I shall refrain from commenting on what their business operations are like. And I don't care if the adventures are published as a separately bound series, or a single bound set of adventures. All I know is that they did deliver all-in-one with Project Bayern, Deepnight and Mercenary boxsets. If they couldn't do that, then you'd expect these releases to be published "piece meal."How can they offer the 5 adventure volume first?
Ah! I see where I was misunderstood now!! Let's look at the options being discussed. The options appear to be:I mean, I welcome the opportunity of binding a set of five adventures into one volume, just don't you think you should have offered us that first, instead of duping us into buying a series of separate publications, only to later confront us with a single volume that is a partial duplicate of what we have already purchased? Kind of. That's just an example of filling out a blank sector. Nothing official.Foreven is also in the sector construction box set for MgT2

The games designer's sickness...As long as you are not fighting the urge to replace good things with better things.
Thanks for the explanation. Although Reach series is 8 and Naval series is 4, does your decision now mean you all will no longer produce more than three standalone adventures in one particular series? It seems the only advantage of buying into the series is to gain early access to the adventures, before they are duplicated and released as a set ?(with your brand new titles added into the set.)In a nutshell, to reduce the number of SKU (different products) in the range, because too many causes warehouses and distributors to have a fit!
When we first released those three adventures, we had no intention of doing this but, as we come up to reprint them, it makes an increasing amount of sense. So, we will do what we did with Marches Adventures - update the art and layout for the existing adventures, and add some brand new titles.
Hope that makes sense!
No, not at all - when we compile the Reach Adventures, it will be the existing Adventures 1-5.Thanks for the explanation. It is not a sickness limited to game designers. lolThe games designer's sickness...
Excuse me, but have you overlooked Reach Adventures 6,7 & 8? Namely: Exodus, The Last Train Out of Rakken-Goll and Makergod? No, not at all - when we compile the Reach Adventures, it will be the existing Adventures 1-5.
Maybe there needs to be a #9 and #10, to make a second compilation.Excuse me, but have you overlooked Reach Adventures 6,7 & 8? Namely: Exodus, The Last Train Out of Rakken-Goll and Makergod?
I am only now realizing that Makergod is a Reach Adventure and not part of PoD. Oops! Man, I feel slow!Excuse me, but have you overlooked Reach Adventures 6,7 & 8? Namely: Exodus, The Last Train Out of Rakken-Goll and Makergod?
The new version of Makergod tweaks a couple of minor things.I am only now realizing that Makergod is a Reach Adventure and not part of PoD. Oops! Man, I feel slow!![]()
