Weber shows his wargaming roots in his fiction. His Starfire and HH universes are well-thought out as far as their underlying tech works. There are very few holes (though he made a bit of a boo-boo with the "off-bore" launchers in the SKM navy when the earlier books explicitly stated that onboard launchers had an advantage by giving their missiles a boost in velocity. His description of the attacks violates his own rules. But it'd work quite well for Traveller since missile launchers give their missiles no velocity boost)
