Traveller Companion breakdown/ review

MonkeyX

Cosmic Mongoose
For anyone interested I’ve done a breakdown/ review of the Companion. It is VERY long and just gives a bit of detail into what I find useful from it I’m my own game. It can be found at https://mesozoic-press.blogspot.com

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Now, if you had said hellburner, or planetbuster, I woulda been forced to run the Poictesme colors up the flagpole. Or maybe Tanith's. Guess it depends on if you are a Maxwell or Trask fan. :)

Does anyone have a contents page from the Traveller Companion they can share? I am interested in this book but can't decide to buy something when I don't know what's in it.

Mongoose's book previews on this site, when they appear, are very poor. I am sure they would do a lot more online business if they previewed their books properly, or even maybe they could write a preview article in a new section on this site that shows off their new books in detail. Am I the only one who wants to see what these books actually contain before I spend over £30 on them?

My review does give all of the chapter headings as well as an idea of what is actually in the book that may help you decide. I went for it for the transponder info alone. Everything else was a bonus.

Dude, you're complaining about lack of information on what's in the book, by posting on a thread promoting a 3,000+ word review of the book. Did you consider clicking the link and reading review?

I agree it wouldn't hurt for the preview on DriveThruRPG to include the table of contents page, but if you want to know what's in a Mongoose pub, you can find out right here. Matt's discussed it extensively, and there are multiple discussions where people share their thoughts. Here's a link to the contents that Matt posted some time ago:

MonkeyX - thanks for doing this review. I bought the companion on day 1 and have read the entire thing, but I still appreciate your insight.

Yeah I realised that after I posted which must look like an extremely stupid thing to do and it was. Anyway I've bought it now and got the pdf.

I now just need a Traveller World Builder/System Builder book and I will be very happy. Maybe I should write it myself, would be faster than waiting for Mongoose to do it!

Dude, go for it! The more people putting ideas out there for the game, the better.
