Is the idea in the campaign that every player has their own starship/rig/etc, or is it the regular assumed Traveller setup where all players are the crew of a single vessel?

Possible, until the rule book says only one player in the group gets the freebie starship, and the follow up benefits for the rest morph into ship shares.
