Traveller Babylon 5 question

Just a couple of queries, but is the info for PPG's only listed in the Traveller B5 universe book?

Is it listed elsewhere?

Also the Central Supply Catalogue seemed to have some B5 stuff listed within but have no idea what they're referring to since the PPG isn't listed.

Been looking at this specifically because the PPG is a safer weapon to use on ships and stations in space but thought it would be listed in that book but that doesn't seem to be the case.

has it been referred to in any issue of Signs and Portents?

What in the CsC comes from bab 5?

I've only encountered the PPG's in the Bab5 books, I have yet to see anything in signs and portents... but I don't read all of them, so there might have been something. I doubt it though...

Also, why is the PPG safer aboard ships?
I don't see this being true with ships in traveller having hulls like they do, and the availability of slug throwers with soft rounds like bean bags and flechettes...

I am not aware of any PPG equivalent in any other Traveller material,
and in my view the plasma technology of the Third Imperium setting
would hardly make such a weapon possible.

Originally only had the pocket handbook so when running a Traveller introduction to the campaign I was hoping to run i explained that the energy weapon were PPG's since most of us involved were familiar with the Babylon 5 series.

I was hoping to find the stats for the actual weapons since I remembered from the tv series that they were used because it was a safer option than using projectile weapons.

I picked up the pdf of the Central Supply Catalogue and assumed from the description that it actually has stuff from the B5 setting but rereading it it seems to just be useable in that setting instead.

Shame but could have been worse after all the players in my game might have access to a copy!

Thanks for the quick response!

I think you are looking at a different book. There is nothing in the CSC description that mentions B5.
