Trade Bars

I am new to Traveller and the resources, but what books are you referencing for the materials (Lanthanum, Iridum and Zuchai Crystals)?
I am afraid I have to pass on this one. :(

Lanthanum as the material used in the construction of jump
drives and the Iridium Throne are mentioned in various books
of different Traveller versions, but at the moment I do not re-
member where exactly they are mentioned.
Zuchai Crystals appear as a trade good in Classic Traveller's
Leviathan adventure and are occasionally mentioned in other
books, but again I cannot remember exactly where.

The Traveller Wiki has this:

http://traveller.wikia.com/wiki/Lanthanum

http://traveller.wikia.com/wiki/Iridium

Thank you for the links...I do not have Classic Traveller, but I have teh Mongoose version. Thank you again.

Don't forget the most interesting use of trade bars..treasure ships plying the secondary jump routes to act as armored banking transports. Heavily defended, yes, but with the occasional quiet sprint to off-the-beaten-path worlds. Pirates live for those "side excursions".

Hmmm, you might like Pirates of Drinax part 2 then.

I'm sure I will!

*paraphrases alex_greene in song in anticipation*

"I am the very model of an interstellar Traveller...arrr!"

Speaking of which... last night my players decided to hit a shipment of Lanthanum trade bars, overseen by the Black Star Crime syndicate. We ended the night as the came out of jump at the rendezvous in deep space (empty hex between worlds) where one cell of the crime ring is supposed to transfer the shipment to the another cell.
Next game should be very interesting... :)
