ok then, given the further delays to the game, and the lack of interest locally (Nomad and a couple of his chaps aside), their seems little point running this as it stands. Maybe as and when the game is properly running, I'll drum up some interest, sadly my LGS's are very card centric.

I will attend (assuming my fleet box arrives and someone else comes along to split petrol costs).
Guys get pimping the competition. if i don't boost prospective numbers, I'm not in a position to book the venue.
with respect to the delay on the mini's front, bugger! I can "probably" help out with a fleet or two, but i suspect it may be a 2400 tourney!
of course "if" the official tourney is delayed, i'll do likewise, would be rude to run one before Mongoose do!

right chaps, very underwhelming response, possibly prompted by the mini shortages, thoguh I'm good with proxies anyway.

Are they postponing it again, or do you just mean the move from mid Feb to March 17th?

If they can really produce as many in metal in 3 days as they claimed the 2 week delay before everything is fully running(with that 2 week not being in total non-production) shouldn't delay it.
If it does then there went away reason for switching to metal in a first place...

That may have been the point of the switch but you'll forgive me if I remain pessimistic until such time actual product is actually in the hands of players. I'm sure in the medium to long term that the switch to metal minis will speed up the turnaround. In the short term there is a significant amount of order backlog, by my understanding. Even with increased speed of production, there will be a delay.
Let's not forget that there also a number of questions on price and quality etc which will need to be answered before the true scale of the catchup operation becomes clear. In other words, how many people are going to cancel pre-orders if they are not willing to buy into the metal minis. This may reduce the number of outstanding orders to be filled and may obviously mean those people remaining will get their orders more quickly. Time will tell.
